What is SURVIVOR Certified?

The national standard for unrestored vehicles.

Created by David Burroughs and Bloomington Gold over 20 years ago,SURVIVOR judging is an inspection process to determine if vehiclesmeet the following minimum standards of preservation on the daythey are certified:

Is at least 20 years old.

Satisfactorily pass a 20 mile road test. Less than 50% of the entire vehicle has been repainted, restored,

repaired, or modified.

More than 50% of the unrestored finishes remain in nearly newcondition.

One of 116 L88 Corvettesproduced in the final year of L88 productionwith less than half produced as convertibles,it is a three-time inductee to the Blooming-ton Gold Special Collection (1988, 1998 and2008), judged Bloomington Gold Survivor in2009, and one of only six L88s in the Bloom-

ington Gold Hall of Fame.

The cars first owner was Richard Thomas, a sol-dier from Georgia who ordered it while stationedin South Korea. Ownership history includes long-term ownership by well-known collector Dr. PaulNoble from 1978 to the late 1990s - and is alsoformerly of The Ron Landis Collection. The cur-rent owner purchased the car in 2005. The car is

fully documented and includes the original tanksticker, statement of origin, Protect-O-Plate, GMInvoice delivery schedule and Bloomington GoldHall of Fame certificate.

A one-owner car from 1967 until 2010 whenit was purchased by only its second owner,this remarkable 1967 Chevrolet Corvetteconvertible was awarded Bloomington GoldSurvivor Certification this year. Finished in

a rare and handsome pairing of Marina Bluewith a Bright Blue interior, it is powered bythe L71 427/435 HP Tri Power-equipped bigblock mated to a 4-speed manual transmis-sion. It has been driven only 36,188 miles andpresents in exceptional condition right downto the original factory instruction tag on theoriginal White soft top; a Black vinyl auxil-iary hardtop is also included.
