So is This What You Really Want?
• No identifiers- nothing is numbered, named or identified?
• No structure, no baselines- what goes into what and what documents are related to what parts is unknown. What the current configuration is, is unknown.
• Requirements and documentation whose integrity is questionable? Whose existence is questionable.
• No change control. Unauthorized, unknown changes. No traceability.
• No recording and reporting Information (status accounting) about anything change or product related.
• No idea if the product conforms to whatever it is supposed to conform to.

• Those who say they do not need CM know very little about CM.
• Not doing CM has always been a recipe for disaster and that is why there are various industry CM standards, CM guidelines, Quality Assurance initiatives, Federal Regulations that address the need for CM type processes.
• Not doing CM can have a huge negative impact.
The Bottom Line

About CMPIC
CMPIC is the Configuration Management Process Improvement Center. The CMPIC mission is to provide high quality, cost-effective and up-to-date configuration management training, certification and consulting. We have created our configuration management certification programs, as well as our other configuration management courses with one goal in mind. To assure each student receives a complete understanding of configuration management principles, configuration management standards, and various implementation options. CMPIC configuration management training and certification courses examine all perspectives of CM rather than focusing on a single ideology.
Topics covered in CMPIC courses include: configuration management planning, configuration management plans, configuration control, change management, configuration verification and configuration audit, configuration status accounting, configuration management standards/guidance documents (such as EIA-649, DOE-1073, ISO 10007, MIL-HDBK-61A, etc), configuration management assessments and much more.
Our goal is to assure that configuration management and related professionals attain a complete understanding of the configuration management landscape in all environments. Our courses, and course examples, have been written with a variety of implementation environments in mind: Software, Hardware, Information Technology (IT), Engineering, Facilities, and more. Our course material is presented using modern training techniques and a fresh perspective.
Our instructors hold multiple CM certifications, have a solid track record in CM training and are active in various associations such as ACDM, TechAmerica EIA- 649 G-33 committee, ASQ and more. You'll leave our classes inspired, not tired! Onsite and public classes are available. Finally, we are people friendly…if you have any questions at all regarding CM courses or CM in general we would enjoy talking with you. Please call us at 434-525-8648 (USA EST) or go to www.CMPIC.com
