Snow  Owl  Pla*orm  Snow  Owl  is  a  state-­‐of-­‐the-­‐art  authoring  pla2orm  for  clinical  terminologies.      Backing  the  tooling  the  Snow  Owl  Pla*orm  supports  the  following  runHme  components:  •  A  terminology  server  that  can  be  installed  separately  or  be  packaged  with  the  

workbench  for  terminology  authoring  purposes  •   A  scalable  EHR  server  that  is  opHmized  to  be  queried  in  real-­‐Hme  for  semanHc

Snow  Owl  is  built  upon  the  Eclipse  pla2orm,  therefore:  •  Easily  integrates  Eclipse-­‐based  applicaHon  architectures  within  a  single  

tool.      An  example  of  this  integra6on  is  Stanford's  Protégé  Ontology  Editor,  

which  allows  us  to  use  any  Protégé-­‐compa6ble  descrip6on  logic  classifier.      •  Integrates  with  informaHon  model  tooling,  such  as  the  HL7  StaHc  Model  

Designer  and  our  Logical  InformaHon  Model  tooling  to  support  domain  model  design,  ontology  authoring,  and  the  binding  between  the  two.
