EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Snow Landscaping Company will provide the town of Augusta, Oregon with professional lawn-mowing on a weekly basis for a 5 mile stretch of the Route 24 median and sidings, 10 acres in Willoughby Park, and 23 acres at Augusta Memorial Golf Course. These jobs will take place for four months, from May 30th through September 30th. The total cost for this project on a weekly basis is $3,855.00.

Our company has researched the proposed job sites where the work is requested. We were then able to choose the most appropriate and technically advanced equipment that will be best for the specific jobs. We worked closely with the town of Augusta’s maintenance team to address any hazards or events that our company will need to work around so the job can be completed weekly and without any delay.

For each job we have chosen the appropriate team of employees and equipment that can specialize in each location. You may wonder why we would need different types of equipment and workers to complete different jobs. We choose the equipment based on the texture and surroundings for each job site. For the Augusta Memorial Golf Course, we chose equipment that will go with the precision and high quality grass that works best for golf courses. This ensures that the grass that is already present will be enhanced and the likely hood that it will have to be replaced or re-grown is slim to none. On the other hand, the equipment used for the Route 24 job is more industrious. It will safely mow large areas of grass that will also mow through debris. This will clean up the look of the roadways while still maintaining safety during traffic. Our company strives on providing quality work while at a reasonable price. We feel that our prices are competitive, but our service is un-matched by anyone else.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

Since our company’s services are very job specific, each job will require the use of different types of equipment as well as different trained professionals on our staff.

5 MILE STRETCH OF ROUTE 24 MEDIANS AND SIDINGS

This stretch of Route 24 is a major entrance into the town of Augusta; therefore, it needs to be inviting to visitors and makes your citizens proud to live in the town. This job will be completed once a week on Sunday due to lower traffic in the area.

This stretch of roadway is prone to fallen tree debris, as well as, the occasional litter. We ensure that our team will do a quick yet thorough inspection of any debris and dispose of it properly before mowing begins. For this job, we will use our industrious mower that is large in enough to cover the sides of the roadway in a two pass mow. This allows our workers to not interfere with roadway traffic and allows the job to be completed quickly and properly. The medians will need to be done with a standard state of the art smaller mower. After the median has been mowed, our staff will use the weed eater to trim the edges and make the grass flush with the curb. We noticed that there is a medium sized flower bed in the median. Not only can our staff mow and trim around this flower bed, we can also maintain and replant flowers in the bed if this is something that the city council wishes to be completed. During each job, our mowers will suck up all mowed grass through a hose that is attached to each mower. This ensures that the roadway is not full of grass debris. For any grass that our mowers miss, a team member will go behind and blow the grass so it is not in the roadway or walkway.

10 ACRES IN WILLOUGHBY PARK

This park is centrally located in the town and plays host to events and festivals in the community. This job is large in size and needs to be done with a few things in mind. Since the park is most popular on weekends and after school hours, our team will complete this job on Tuesday mornings before lunchtime. This also allows for holidays that fall on Mondays to have events take place in the park without a mowing interference.

This park contains playground equipment, numerous picnic tables, a pavilion, and sport courts. As always, employees will walk

the grounds first to dispose of any litter or hazards that might get in the way of mowing. This mowing job will also require our industrial size riding lawn mower that will sweep the park from side-to-side. Another worker will be outlining the permanent fixtures within the park, i.e. the playground equipment, pavilion and sport courts, with a state-of-the art self-propelled mower. This will keep

the larger riding mower from getting too close to the fixtures and causing damage.

We are mindful that this is a recreational and event park. Therefore, we want to assure you that we hire only the most qualified and professional workers. All of our workers are fluent in English and some in both English and Spanish and will not disturb any visitors that may be at the park at the time the job is being completed. Snow Landscaping Company has done thorough background checks through a national agency and none of our workers have a criminal background. 23 ACRES OF AUGUSTA MEMORIAL GOLF COURSE

The golf course is a very aesthetically pleasing and performance oriented job that requires great detail and precision. Several

equipment pieces will need to be used to get the very detailed and sharp look of the course. This golf course was ranked in the top five golf courses in the state of Oregon. Because of the popularity and sport interest, this lawn mowing job will need to be completed after the close of the course in the early evening on either a Monday or Wednesday, depending on which day is best for the golf course staff. Since the golf course has many hills and different terrains, we will use several pieces of equipment to complete the job. We will use predominantly riding mowers that specialize in cutting grass extremely short. We will also make any patterns that the golf course manager

would like us to create in the grass. Our skilled workers will edge and trim bushes to better serve cart paths and walkways around the course. We will be mindful of sand traps and not disturb them in anyway. We will attach hoses and collecting bags on to our mowers so the cut grass will not be blown all over the course. If tree limbs or debris is present, we will also clear that to make it a fair and enjoyable playing course. You may have noticed that we will be mowing in the early evening times if possible. We would prefer to do the job at this time because we know that summer is a very popular time to be outside and enjoying the recreational sport of golf. Our company has purchased battery operated lighting that we can set up if the use of course lighting is not available. This is beneficial to both the golf course and our company. The golf course will not lose any business because of tee time delays due to mowing of the course and during the summer heat our crew will be more comfortable to work in the evening hours.

EQUIPMENT

Snow Landscaping Company uses nothing but high quality equipment. Not only is the equipment the best in the business, but we also pride ourselves in having well maintained, safe equipment.

We maintain and inspect our machinery after every job. We realize that to perform quality work, our employees must have quality equipment to perform a spectacular job every time. Therefore, we will routinely retire a particular model and upgrade to a better, more advanced quality of machinery. We use a variety of equipment that we carry to each job site.

Our workers use riding lawn mowers for long stretches of grass that do not necessarily have sharp corners or designs. A regular push/self-propelled mower is used to cut grass in medians and small areas where a

riding lawn mower would not be necessary. We also have a trimmer to trim near the curbs after we mow for a more precision look. We also carry a power washer and a leaf blower to clear any debris that may be a hazard during mowing. These tools also help in the clean-up process after we have completed mowing.

EMPLOYEES

Our company strives on providing quality work and dependable service. Therefore, all of our employees are trained and certified to operate all machinery used in our business. Employees go through a one week safety course. In this course they learn how to operate and handle all machinery. They will also shadow a veteran employee to understand the job and what skills will benefit them. Upon hiring any employee, our management staff will do a background check through a nationally recognized company. This allows us to be confident that Snow Landscaping Company is hiring honest law abiding citizens.

LIABILITY AND ACCIDENTS

We are confident that every job will be completed and done properly. Although we do not anticipate an injury, we are prepared in the even one is to occur. If an accident ever occurs while any of our employees are performing at a jobsite, our company has full coverage insurance and will maintain personal liability for our employees. If any permanent fixtures are damaged while our staff is working at a job site, a claim will be filed with our insurance carrier and damages will be paid in full. We carry a $1 million dollar insurance policy in the event that damage does occur.
