Snoqualmie Valley Hospital Relocation Rendering of the new hospital looking toward the main entry. The site is located within the City of Snoqualmie, close to the Snoqualmie Parkway exit from I-90. The facility is scheduled to open in late 2014. Who are we? The Snoqualmie Valley Hospital District was voted into existence by the community in 1972 to deliver any service to help people stay healthy - physically, socially and mentally. As a Public Hospital district, we have an obligation to not only run a hospital, but to help people live healthier lives. Our mission is to promote the health and well-being of people in our community by providing quality care in a collaborative environment. Why do we need a new hospital? The current hospital was built in 1983. In the last 30 years, the highways have shiſted away from the current location, making it more hidden and difficult to access. The site itself has multiple environmentally sensitive zones that constrain expansion to the existing structure. Our community has grown and changed tremendously over the years. The new building will allow us to expand from 14 to 25 patient rooms and enlarge the facilities that residents use every day including lab, medical imaging, and outpatient rehabilitation services in a location that is more visible and convenient to access. Where will the new hospital be located? Just west of Snoqualmie Parkway, near I-90 and Highway 18 (just North of SE 99th St.) What services will the new hospital provide? • 25 individual, private inpatient rooms • Expanded imaging and diagnostic services • Larger emergency department • Expanded laboratory services • Larger rehabilitation department • Larger primary and specialty care clinic • Larger gastroenterology department • Education facilities and meeting rooms How much will the new hospital cost? The capital cost for the new hospital is approximately $38 million, which is set by contract. How is the hospital funded? Funding for the new hospital will come solely from operating revenue and not taxes. The District will lease the facility from a developer in a build-to-suit, lease-to-own contract. Any cost overruns will be the responsibility of the developer and not the hospital district. When will the new hospital open? Late 2014 www.SVHD4.org
