enabling them to provide better Healthcare solutions while upholding the safety and well-
being of the community above all other considerations.

research and extension at all times.

To maintain highest standard in education, extension and research through imparting
knowledge, inculcating skills and developing the right attitude. Contribute in creating a
sensitive and responsive society that follows ethical and moral values, that adopts logical
and rational approaches and that prospers in peace.
ESTABLISHMENT
Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy, Kondhwa (Bk.), Pune under the aegis
of Sinhgad Technical Education Society has been established in the year 2005-06
for the conduct of B. Pharm. course with 60-intake capacity. It is the eighth year of
inception of the institute. The institute now offers PG course M. Pharm in
Pharmaceutics (24), Pharm. Chemistry (18), Pharmacology (18) & Quality
Assurance (24). It also offers Ph. D. programme in Pharmaceutical Sciences. It
enjoys the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE),
Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), State Govt. of Maharashtra, Directorate of
Technical Education (DTE), MS, Mumbai and affiliated to the University of
Pune.

ACADEMICS
The course curriculum, internal examinations, annual examinations and other co-
curricular programmes chalked on calendar year 2012 -2013 were conducted as
per schedule. The theory & practical classes of the F. Y., S. Y., T. Y. Final year B.
Pharm & the M. Pharm courses were conducted as per the circular, directives
issued by the University of Pune.
Induction cum orientation programme
Induction cum orientation programme was held on 27th-28th Aug 2012. On the first
day of the induction program guest lecture titled Psychological Counseling of
students was delivered by Dr. Sharmistha Deshpande, Professor at Smt. Kashibai
Navale Hospital and Medical College. The faculty members addressed the freshly
admitted students on course structure, examination pattern, study
methodology and co-curricular & extracurricular activities.
The chief guest for the second day of the induction programme Dr. Himadri Sen,
Member Board of Directors, Strategic and Scientific Affairs Unimark Remedies
Limited, Mumbai addressed the students on career and scope of Pharmacy
Profession. Certificates were awarded to the students who stood first, second &
third in the B. Pharm & M. Pharm Examinations 2012.
Parents Teacher Meet
Parent Teachers meeting was organized on 13th Oct 2012 at the Seminar hall of the
institute. The introduction of faculty members was given by Mrs. Meera Singh.
Principal Dr. S. D. Sawant put forth the objectives of the parent teachers meeting
such as attendance of the students, understanding student psychology and
facilitation of parent teacher interaction. Dr. R. B. Jadhav discussed the teaching
learning process. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Meera Singh.

Problem based learning (PBL) is an instructional method that challenges students to
"learn to learn," working cooperatively in groups to seek solutions to real world
problems. PBL better prepares students to apply their learning to real-world

1. Ms. Sanjana Raul & Ms. Soumya Kumar participated in the State Level Inter
collegiate Debate Competition Late Gopal Ganesh Agarkar Smruti
Karandak held at D. E.S. Law College on 31st Aug 2012. Ms. Sanjana Raul has
won Special Appreciation prize & a cash prize of Rs 500/.
2. Mr. Vinay Singh participated in the Dr. P. C. Alexander English & Marathi
Competition held on 13th Oct 2012 at University of Pune.
3. Mr. Rahul Dashputre participated in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Intercollege
State level debate competition held on 18th Dec 2012 held at Sangamner
College, Sangamner.
4. Ms. Sanjana Raul and Ms. Soumya Kumar stood as second runner up in
debate competition EXODUS 2013 on 29/1/2013 held at St. Mira’s College for
Girls, Koregaon Park Pune. The topic for debate was “Television is the
leading cause of violence in todays society”.
5. Ms. Sheela Malwad, Lisha Shinde, Pranita Maramwar stood first in Mitcon
Poster presentation PHARMEET 2013 “National Conference on
Opportunities in Pharmaceutical Industry organized by Mitcon Institute of
Management on 2nd Feb 2013. The group received a cash prize of Rs
3000/.Topic of the poster was Detection of Milk Adulteration based on gold
nanoparticles assisted Spectroscopy.
6. Dnyaneshwar Pawar, Vinit Chavan, Jyoti Salunke participated in Poster
presentation PHARMEET 2013 “National Conference on Opportunities in
Pharmaceutical Industry organized by Mitcon Institute of Management on
2nd Feb 2013. The topic for the poster was Optimized and validated
spectrophotometric methods for the determination of Doxycycline hyclate in
Pharmaceuticals by charge transfer reaction using Picric Acid.

participated in Poster presentation PHARMEET 2013 “National Conference
on Opportunities in Pharmaceutical Industry organized by Mitcon Institute
of Management on 2nd Feb 2013. The topic for the poster was Chiral
Auxillary for the stereochemical synthesis of drugs.
8. Swapnali Nigade was shortlisted for National Level Student Research
Convention ANVESHAN 2012-13 West Zone Research Project Competition,
held at University Of Pune in association with Association of Indian
Universities, New Delhi during 23rd to 25th February 2013. Topic for her
presentation was “Novel Nanodimensional Beacons For Diabetes
Theragnostics.”She participated further for final round held at Tata Institute
of Social Sciences, Mumbai during March 20-22, 2013.
9. Sudarshan A. Bandavane qualified for Best Topic at National Conference on
Recent Challenges in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology on 16th March
2013 organized by University Institute of Chemical Technology, North
Maharashtra University Jalgaon.

Teachers Day Celebration
Teachers Day was celebrated on 5th Sept 2012; the B. Pharm classes were conducted
by the M. Pharm Students.
The afternoon session began with the felicitation of the teachers by the students.
Talk was given by Mrs Meera Singh & Dr. S. D. Sawant on the occasion of the
teacher’s day.
51stNational Pharmacy Week-2012
51st National Pharmacy Week was celebrated by Indian Pharmaceutical
Association and Pharmacy Colleges Of Pune District. This year the theme was
“Pharmacists in Public Health”. As A part of the celebration Quiz was organized at
SKNCOP on 12th Dec 2012. Students also participated in various events during the
National Pharmacy Week.

Farewell Programme for Final year students
Farewell Programme for final year students was organized on 29th March 2013 at the
seminar hall of the college. The Guest of honor was Prof. Milind Joshi Chairman
Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad. Principal Dr. S. D. Sawant guided the students on this
occasion. Pharmacists Oath was taken by all final Year students. All Final year students
were felicitated with memento. Group Dance Winners of Sinhgad Karandak 2013 were
also felicitated.

The Best Outgoing student was awarded to Mr. Gaurav Oswal from final Year B. Pharm.
Social Activities NSS National Service Scheme
Blood Camp was arranged for the students on 30th Oct 2012 as a part of NSS activity. Total
102 students of UG and PG participated in the blood camp organized by the faculty Mr.
Rahul Takawale and Kashibai Navale Medical College and General Hospital.
Guest Lecture “Guidance on UPSC, MPSC, Competitive examination” by Mr. Harshal
Lavangare , Faculty Unique Academy was arranged on 27th Oct 2012.
Guest Lecture “Personality Developmemt How to live life” by Dr. Anil Avachat
Social Activist was arranged on 13th Dec 2012.
NSS camp was organized by Mr. Rahul Takawale from 4th Jan 2013 to 10th Jan 2013 at
Choufulla, Bori Pardhi, Taluka Daund, District Pune. The faculty members Mr. Prashant
Sarda and Mr. Vishal Zambre and 25 students of Second to Final Year (21 boys and four
girls) participated in the camp. The activities carried out in this camp include plantation,
building of small dam, health camp, street play, colouring of plants , project work, survey
& visit to dairy. Dr. Hashmi the co-ordinator of NSS, University of Pune visited the camp.
The programme was concluded with the address of S. N. Navale Sir Vice President STES.
Training & Placement Cell
Campus Interview was arranged on 5th March 2013 for the post of marketing job only for
girls Bayer India. 16 students of Final Year B. Pharm had applied, 9 were shortlisted for
the interview and one was selected.
Campus Interview was arranged on 26th March 2013 for Nestle India, 39 students of Final
Year B. Pharm had applied, 25 were shortlisted, one was selected for the final interview.
Alumni
Guidance Lecture was given by alumni student Mr. Prabhanjan Chakurkar on
Opportunities for Higher Education in UK on 27th Aug 2012. Mr. Prabhanjan Chakurkar
completed his MS in Formulation Development at University Of Greenwich UK.
Alumni meet was held on 19th Feb 2013. Registration and interaction of alumni with
SKNCOP students was arranged in the morning session. Orchestra was arranged for
alumni followed by dinner.
Industrial Visit
Industrial Visit to Serum Institute Of India Ltd , Hadapsar was arranged on 11th Oct 2012.
The visit was arranged for T. Y. B. Pharm students as a part of industry institute
interaction. Students of M. Pharm (Pharmaceutics) and (Quality Assurance) also visited
the industry. Faculty members Mrs. Meera Singh, Ms. Manjusha Dole & Mr. Prashant
Sarda accompanied them.
Industrial visit to Oswal Pharmaceuticals Ltd was arranged on 18th October 2012.
Final Year B. Pharm students and students of M. Pharm (Pharmaceutics) visited the
repackaging of pharmaceuticals unit. Faculty members Mrs. Meera Singh & Mr. Prashant
Sarda accompanied them.
Hospital Visit
Hospital Visit was arranged on 12th Oct 2012 at Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College &
General Hospital for Second Year B. Pharm students. Faculty members Mrs. Neha Munot
& Mrs. Preeti Gaikwad accompanied 47 students of Second Year B. Pharm.
