ood Network superstarPaula Deen is the latestcelebrity to trot out an

apology video. Apparently, sheused racial epithets in the presence

of her employees, one of whom iscurrently suing her. I dont knowthe details of the case, and I dontwant to know. The lawsuit will bedecided by a court, not by me (and

not by you). But I do want to saythat Im sick to death of people be-

ing forced to publicly apologize.Perhaps its because I was one

of those people.

Two months ago, I was outedas having spent five years, from

1990 through 1995, making variousclaims, on shows like 60 Minutes,

The Phil Donahue Show, 48 Hours,and Montel Williams, regarding theAuschwitz camp and its role and

function during the Holocaust.

What I said was controversial,but my views were based on what Iperceived to be the facts. I neveruttered a single word that was in

any way hateful or pro-Nazi, be-cause I am the exact opposite ofthose things.

After a large monetary bountywas put on my head by a violent

extremist group, I changed myname, and spent the last eighteenyears as David Stein. I built a verysuccessful GOP event-organizingoperation, and my political writing

was carried by every major con-servative site on the net, from

FrontPageMag to Commentary andThe Weekly Standard, from theBreitbart sites to The Daily Caller

and HotAir, from The Blaze to TheWashington Times and OReil-

ly.com, and on shows includingRush Limbaugh, Fox News, and

All of that came crashing downtwo months ago when a vindictive

young woman who I had been fi-nancially supporting for five yearsobjected to being cut off from theDave gravy train. She knew of my

past (I never kept it a secret frommy close friends and loved ones),

and she outed me.I was now David Cole, the

Jewish Holocaust revisionistwhod been hiding as David

Stein. The story of my outingwas carried by The Huffington

Post, Yahoo News, AOL News,The Guardian, Gawker, MSN, TheWashington Times, American

Spectator, and PJ Media.Half of my sizeable network of

(now former) friends disowned me,

sent me angry emails, called meracist, anti-Semitic, and pro-

Nazi, and even pressured otherGOPs to stay away from me.

But the other half just wanted to

hear me apologize for the work I

did 20 years ago. Just apologizefor the stuff you said when youwere 22 years old, and all will bewell! Just apologize! Several of

these former friends went a gooddistance to try to strong-arm anapology out of me. There wereeven a few threats made.

Well, apologize my ass. I re-fused. I would not become a mon-key dancing for the apology po-lice organ grinders.

To begin with, what I said 20years ago is either right or wrong.If I erred, Ill cop to it. But admi t-ting an error and apologizing for it

are two completely different things.If a mathematician gets an equationwrong, hes not expected to fall allover himself apologizing. Hes on-

ly expected to recognize the errorand learn from it. You dont write

history books by yelling names atpeople. Trying to convince a histo-rian hes erred by yelling racist islike trying to bake a cake by

screaming YOU STUPID CAKE.Its just not how these things work.

Do the right thing. The

apologies are nonsense. But

they serve a dual purpose

they allow people like Akin

and Dean to appear to be

doing the right thing without

actually doinganything but

swallowing a bit of pride, and

they allow advocacy

groups to feel like big shotsfor forcing famous people to

bow down to them.

The problem with the apologypolice is that once you give in to

them, they never leave you alone.You see that every time a comedian

apologizes for making a racist orhomophobic joke. ConanOBrien is the king of apologies.

He loves giving them. And the

more of them he gives, the morehes asked to give. He apologizedfor Sarah Silverman when shemade a racist joke on his show,

and soon enough he was apologiz-ing again to the entire population ofQuebec for the fact that Triumphthe Insult Comedy Dog (you know,the puppet that insults peopleitsright there in his name) dared tomake jokes about Montreal.

When comedian Tracy Morgan

apologized for making a homo-phobic joke in 2011, at his nextshow (and theres video of this)audience members began demand-

ing apologies right then and therefor every slightly off-color or edgy

joke he did.

He brought it on himself. Theapology police only go after those

who they know will buckle. I call itthe Shalit Syndrome.

In January 2006, Today Showfilm critic Gene Shalit gave a nega-

tive review to Brokeback Moun-tain. That same week, In TheseTimes published an expos of Ira-nian madman Mahmoud Ahmadi-nejads anti-gay pogrom, inwhich gay men were being tortured

and killed. Who did GLAAD goafter? Shalit, of course. Why? Be-

cause GLAAD knew that Shalit,the proud father of an openly gay

son who had written time and againabout his dads unfailing support,

would cave. Shalit, as far from ahomophobe as is humanly possi-

ble, would be so emotionally de-

vastated by being called one, ofcourse hed apologize for any of-fense his review might have given

the gay community. Ahmadinejad,on the other hand, would have told

GLAAD to shove it.As expected, Shalit apologized,

and GLAAD proudly trumpeted

how it made a decent man cower

before its might. Meanwhile, theIranian government continued tomurder gays. But so what, right?GLAAD got its apology. And isnt

that all that matters?The apology police are cowards.

They go after people who are easilybullied. Thats why I love SouthPark. Parker and Stone never apo-

logize. I recall reading a blog froma handicapped rights advocateafter the South Park episode Crip-

pled Summer aired in 2010. Theauthor was lamenting how Parkerand Stone chose to portray the han-dicapped children in the episode as

grotesque incarnations of LooneyTunes cartoon characters. But at theend of the post, the author admit-

A new book, What SoldiersDo: Sex and the American GI inWorld War II France, has revealedthe dark side of Europes liberation

after the Second World War.Professor Mary Louise Ro-

berts, from the University of Wis-consin, said within months of D-Day ordinary French women came

to fear their American liberators.She tells how, by the summer of1944, large numbers of women in

Normandy filed complaints aboutrapes by US soldiers.

"In the cities of Le Havre andCherbourg, bad behavior was

common.Le Havres mayor, Pierre Voi-

sin, complained to Colonel ThomasWeed, the commander of US troopsin the region. This is a regime of

terror, imposed by bandits in uni-form. Scenes contrary to decencyare unfolding in this city day andnight . . . . it is not only scandalous

but intolerable that youthful eyes

are exposed to such public spec-tacles.

The mayor suggested theAmericans set up a brothel outsidethe city to avoid public outrage and

contain the spread of sexuallytransmitted diseases. However, al-though US officers publicly de-

nounced the behavior, they did lit-tle to curtail it.

The book also claims the USarmy demonstrated a deep and

abiding racism, suggesting theypinned a disproportionate number

of rapes on black GIs. Documents

show that of 152 troops disciplinedby the army for rape, 130 were

black.

Faurisson wrote in reply:

I remember how afraid Frenchwomen were of the GIs in Orlans,

in September 1944. I was 15. Oneevening, at perhaps 7pm, at the

house of our friends the Signeux,there was a lady of probably be-tween 40 and 50 who realized itwas time to go home but was afraidof running into American soldiers

on the way. I decided to accompa-ny her on foot. Suddenly along ourway we found an American officer,obviously drunk. He stopped us. Hewanted the lady. She screamed and

ran. The American tried to catchher. I tried to stop him and we near-

ly had a fight. When I saw that thelady was far enough away I ran aswell. I got to her house. I rang the

bell. She and her husband didn'twant to open the door. I turned to

leave but I heard a noise. The doorwas half-open. I saw them para-lyzed by fear. They never thankedme.

The German soldiers had the

reputation of being korrekt. Oneday, in Paris, I saw a French civi-lian, obviously drunk, who stoppeda German officer on the sidewalk.He was insulting him. The German,

trying to calm him down, told himthat war was un grand malheur.He got down from the sidewalk and

went his way. Thirty meters furtheron there was a Commissariat depolice. He could have had thedrunkard arrested by the police.

Now, believe me, until the 8thof May 1945, when I was 16, I kept

hating the Germans and loving the

Americans, the British, and the So-viets. On the 8th of May 1945,

when I heard the bells chiming forourvictory, my father entered the

room I shared with my brother Phi-lippe, who was 14 (I was the eldestof seven). He asked me: Robert,

are you happy? Finding the ques-tion rather indiscreet I drily ans-

wered Yes. And suddenly Ithought: This very day of rejoicingfor us must be, for those Germanswho fought so courageously, a ter-rible day. For the first time since

1939, when I was 10, I felt that myenemies were human beings.

I mentioned our friends theSigneux. My father's best friendwas Pierre Signeux, a physician in

Orlans. My best friend was Chris-tian Signeux (he was a year older

than I). One day in 1940 Christian,who was 11 or 12, wrote on a wall(perhaps the wall of the Komman-danturitself):Hitler salaud(Hitler

bastard). He was arrested. A Ger-

man officer phoned Christian's fa-ther. He summoned him. He said to

both, father and son:You might be against us and

against Hitler but you have no right

to consider Hitler a bastard. Andhe went on explaining what Hitler,in his opinion, had done for hisVolk. The doctor went back homewith his son without any more

The Last Refuge of a Scoundrel

Jett Ruckery father, who wasfrom Brooklyn, oncetold me of an accident

he saw between a city bus and agarbage truck. He noticed that therewere only four or five people on

the bus, which was only slightlydamaged, but one of the passengers

began writhing in pain, wailing thathis neck hurt, and his back was

broken. Very quickly, he noted, the

other passengers, one by one ac-

cording to each ones wittedness,also began similar plaints, one ofthem even getting down on thefloor in his agony.

Then my father noted a passerbygetting on the crippled bus whoquickly adopted the poses affected

by those who had actually beenaboard at the time of the accident.

Then another passerby did thesame, and by the time police ar-

rived at the scene and called am-

bulances, there were more griev-ously injured people on the bus

than the bus had seats. Ambulancescarried off the victims for more

than an hour after the massacre. Mystudious father checked for bloodafter the bus had been emptied, andfound none.

I think my father intended the

story, which he might well haveexaggerated, but not by much, as alesson in the human capacity for

adventitious duplicity. As he ex-plained, the people who actually

had been on the bus, but had notbeen hurt, were run-of-the-mill

fraudscommon, and even unders-tandable. But the ones who hadgotten onto the bus after its acci-

dent, now these, he pointed out,

these were the aggravated frauds.These were the ones we all need towatch out for, and oppose when we

encounter them.I have since come to take the

story as emblematic of many such

incidents both large and small, butthe biggest such caper Ive ever

detected is the vaunted Holocaustof the European Jews during WorldWar II.

Veterans Today has recently

carried an excellent compendium ofHolocaust fakery in Jonas Alexissexcellent Denying Holocaust For-geries, Hoaxes, and Fabrications,

but it perforce overlooks that mostnumerous form of Holofakery, the

Barack Obama, of course, hasno uncle who ever served in any

branch of the US armed forces.But, just as good, no American sol-

dier so much as laid eyes onAuschwitz while on duty. The

camps liberation came as theopening of the 44-year-long occu-

pation of Poland by the Soviet Un-

ion. The inmates no doubt received

far better care from their Germancaptors than they could expect fromtheir Red Army liberators, possibly

explaining the hasty flight west-wardinto Germanythat manyof them undertook as soon as the

fighting died down.This account is not offered to

acquaint any reader with the ideathat Barack Obama, like virtuallyall his fellow politicians, tells

liesboth transparent ones, like

these, and others impossible to fal-sify because of the opaque veil ofsecrecy he and his predecessorshave drawn over increasing sectors

of government activities. Rather,this report is submitted to demon-

strate how the story of the Holo-caust as hatched in wartime underthe aegis of Allied propaganda and

institutionalized shortly afterwardsin the travesty known as the Nu-

remberg and other war-crimes tri-

als, has long since become the toolof knaves and scoundrels seeking

the power they need to pursue con-cealed, destructive agendas of their

own.Above all, this already-

venerable legend of spectacularcruelty on the part of Germans to-ward Jews has served the Israeli

state from even before its bloodyestablishment, and both sustained itand provided it with irreproachable

excuses for the program of con-quest and subjugation it has pur-

sued since it first promised in 1948to become a light unto nations.

The late Tom Lantos, Congressmanfrom California, claimed status as aHolocaust Survivor on the basis ofa sojourn he took, allegedly at gun-

point, but possibly in search of abetter diet, from his native Budap-est to a nearby work camp, fromwhich he was returned (unharmed)in well under a year. Of course, hisreturn is styled an escape in his bi-

ography.Closer to the Obama my (non-

existent) relative was there is DovHikind, a member since 1983 of the

New York General Assembly, who

claims Holocaust survivorship forboth of his parents and has distin-

guished himself through a panoplyof parochial stunts of which per-haps the best is getting banks in hisBrooklyn district to waive wire-

transfer fees on the monthly Holo-caust-reparations payments re-ceived by so many of his heavilyJewish constituency. No doubt hisown parents have both benefittedfrom this as well as other such pol-

icies instituted by their son, the As-semblyman.

The Holocaust has served assuch a powerful political battering

ram for so long it is impossible to

catalog all the candidacies it hasbuttressed in the US as well as oth-

er countries, nor of course all theofficial perfidy committed by these

particular candidates, who may as agroup have been even more nefa-

rious than the general run of politi-cians, a low standard by any count.

But its clear that the bus wreckhas been filled many times over,and the power and protection of theHolocaust legend is such that it will

be filled many times again beforeits political serviceability finally

How I Became a Revisionist

any revisionists havea strange or unusual

background, onewhich would never have predicted

that they would join with such agroup of masochists. My story isof the same kind.

My parents were born and livedin Antwerp, in the center of the

Jewish neighborhood, together withsome ten to fifteen thousand mainlyChassidim Jews. Contrary to how itwas in France, Germany, Poland,etc. there was no anti-Semitism in

the Low Countries, as the Nether-lands and Belgium together werethen called. The Catholic Flemish

people lived with the AntwerpJews, who were largely involved

with the diamond trade and cutting,and which provided many Flemish

people also a good living.In May 1940 the Germans ar-

rived and after a few days Belgium

was overrun and our country cameunder a German military govern-

ment (Militrverwaltung). InFrance and Holland the Germans

installed aZivilverwaltung

, whichwas stricter and less lenient thanwhat was imposed on us.

The state of Belgium is an ar-tificial construction, composed of

two cultures, and constructed afterthe defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte.The southern part of Belgium isFrench-speaking, and impregnated

by the ideals of the French Revolu-

tion. In the northern part of Bel-gium live the Germanic-rootedFlemish Dutch-speaking folk. From

the start of the state of Belgium in1830 a Flemish autonomist move-

ment (similar to how it was inQubec, or with the Basques, Cata-

lans, etc.) came up, becoming moreand more powerful.

My parents were not politicallyinvolved. They didnt join the

many Flemish pro-German andNational-Socialist formations.

Nevertheless, the Flemish popula-tion in general sustained the Ger-man occupiers (because the Ger-mans by the romantic tradition ofthe 19th century supported the

Germanic Flemish people), butthe situation changed after the Sta-lingrad defeat when it became clearthat Germany was not going to winthe war.

In our family four children wereborn during the war. My mothertold me we were never hungry and

did not have any other severe prob-lems. Our house was situated next

door to the Jewish main synagogue.In 1942 anti-Jewish demonstrations

started, without much approval bythe people. The synagogue wasdamaged, but our house (we had

Jewish tenants living with us) wasnot harmed.

In September 1942 the Germansand Antwerp police began to roundup Jews, mostly those who hadimmigrated recently from Germa-

ny, Austria, and Eastern Europe,but not the Belgian Jews. And, ofcourse, the Gestapo rang at ourdoor too, which was opened by my(again pregnant) mother. My moth-er was not tall and did not look

very Germanic. On the contrary!She was small and had long raven-

black hair.The Gestapo man asked her:

Bist du Arier? (Are youAryan?). My mother, being a sim-

ple housewife and not politicallyinvolved, was frightened by thequestion and thought this being

Aryan must be something verybad. She answered: Nein, No.Moreover, the Gestapo found a few

Jewish women tenants in the base-ment where we lived, so my mother

was suspected of Judenhilfe(helping to hide Jews). She wasarrested and put in the prison at the

Gestapo-headquarters in Antwerp,

which was located in the sameneighborhood in a building next tothe house of her mother.

When my father came home that

evening and the family told himwhat had happened, he went to theGestapo-office to explain the situa-tion. My fathers mother was fromGermany and my father himself

was, before the war, a sales-representative of German manufac-turers of glassware. The Gestapo

made no problems, they were kindand very correct, and they apolo-gized. And so my mother had thegood fortune to see me (and her 3

other little children) the day after!None of this is a big deal but it

makes clear that I was not at allraised in a political right-wing or

National Socialist or racist family.We were just traditional Catholics,

like almost everybody in the Fle-mish middle-class. We did not treatmuch with politics and, being Fle-mish, we were rather positive to-

wards the Germans who hadgranted a lot of political rights and

benefits to the Flemish Movement.For National-Socialist Germany,Flanders belonged to their Germa-nischeGemeinschaftthe German-ic Community/commonwealth.

Anti-Semitism is a

strange phenomenon for me.

When I was a child I saw

those orthodox Jews every

day in the streets aroundme. The Chassidimare spe-

cial (not to say weird), but

for me they were an every-

day experience. When you

grow up with people, its

impossible to hate them, be-

cause they are too familiar.

Moreover, those people

were peaceful, hard-work-

ing, living apart in their own

small world, and disturbing

nobody.

After the war a tsunami of polit-ical violence flooded over Flanders,

especially over those who had par-ticipated in the Flemish Movement.Approximately 160.000 personswere charged and/or put in prisonsfor months, some for years, while

others lost their jobs, their houses,their political rights, and were out-lawed. I have seen how even in

Catholic schools they pestered andmistreated children of collabora-tors, and this revolted me profound-ly. Seeing this was the beginning of

my political (and later revisionist)awakening.

When I was 11 years old my fa-ther died. I was away at boarding

school at the time and I do not re-member him well. But he left me,

unintentionally, an important lega-cy. After his death I left the board-ing school and went back to thathuge house, next to the synagogue,

and explored all the rooms, attics,cellars, where I discovered one daya lot of copies of the famousmonthly German propaganda mag-azine Signaal. This was to my eyes

better stuff than the Old and New

Testament, the Catechism, etc. withwhich our priest-teachers were in-

doctrinating us every day (while atthe same time they were hypocriti-

cally discriminating against thechildren of the collaborators).

I could not stop looking at all ofthose bright Germans, the soldiers,the boys and girls of the Hitlerju-gend in nice uniforms, the Stukas,U-boats, the pictures of farmers andworkingmen, full-color pictures

and illustrations, actors, buildings,etc. I was without doubt compel-

lingly, esthetically brainwashed bythat magazine Signaal. After ashort time I left the Catholic youth

formation, ChristusRex, and joined

a small Flemish nationalist youthorganization, and later on their po-litical parties.

In those years I, like everybody,

believed in the gas-chambers, andcould only raise the argumentthat there were not 6 million killed,

but only one million. This wasnot really a successful argument!

The whole gas-chamber hoax was aheavy burden for me, because ourenemies condemned our political

aspirations by saying: Nationalismends in gas-chambers. What couldwe answer? Then came the firstresearchersMaurice Bardche

and Paul Rassinier in France, PeterKleist in Germany. And then sud-denly Richard Harwood, ThiesChristophersen, Stglich, Butz,

Faurisson, Zndel and many others.Immediately I started to translate

and publish in Dutch and later inFrench and German: It was the be-ginning of a long odyssey, which Ifollowed for almost 40 years. Im

now 72 and still in the revisionistbusiness.

Modern Jewry is not the Jewry Iexperienced when I was a child.

Modern Jewry is fanatical, racistand

mainly Zionist. In my opinion theJews have chosen the wrong road

by devoting themselves to a racistZionism, that which is practiced byIsrael. Modern Jews have an ill-ness. The word for it in German is:

berherrlichkeit(hubris) They arebrainwashed with the dogma thatthey are Gods chosen people andthat God has given to them exclu-sively a beloved country. It createsa situation whereby nobody likes

them. Unfortunately, Jahweh madea big mistake. He allowed Arabs to

take over that beloved country forfifteen centuries. It doesnt look as

though Obama is going to makemuch of a change in that mess.

*** Im hearing a lot of talkabout how American veterans arecommitting suicide while on dutyand after they are back in civilianlife. But the military says that its

suicide rate remains lower than that

of America's civilian population.The AP cites the Pentagon as say-ing "the civilian suicide rate formales aged 17-60 was 25 per

100,000 in 2010, the latest year forwhich such statistics are available.

That compares with the military'srate in 2012 of 17.5 per 100,000."

So what are we talking about?

When I was in Vietnam Ididnt hear any talk about suicide

issues, tho later I did. When I was

in Korea none of us ever talkedabout it. Or thought about it so faras I was aware. There was one ofus there in the mountains who

wanted out. One afternoon in asmall clearing in the forest he chose

to sit on the edge of some kind ofhole, his legs inside, pulled the pin

from a fragmentation grenade anddropped it in. The explosion blewhim backwards ass over teakettle(to coin a phrase) but oddly did notscratch him. He was not sent to the

rear for psychiatric counseling, and

he was not forced to continue tocarry a rifle and stay in combatwith the rest of us. The captainsimply assigned him to the platoon

of Korean bearers who carried ourfood and ammunition up and down

the mountain trails behind us. TheAmerican was tall and blond andwe did laugh at him a bit seeing

him among the short, dark-hairedKoreans, but none of us held any-

thing against him or ever said any-

thing to embarrass him.Nowadays he would have

been lifted out by helicopter andflown to an army hospital some-

place for long chats with any num-ber of shrinks and a couple sacks of

pills to calm him down and cheerhim up.

*** Still, last night the left footwas cold. I couldnt sleep. Theright foot was okay. Only the leftone was cold. I had to get up and

put a couple socks on it, after

which I was able to go to sleep.

Sounds a little goofy to me. MaybeIm gonna need some help myself.

*** Carlos Porter and I were

chatting via email a while backwhen he had occasion to remark

that William L. Shirer had toldpeople for 30 years Hitler was acarpet eater, which Porter termed

a gross mistranslation. He alsonoted that Shirer was almost single-

handedly responsible for the uni-

versal delusion that the Nazisclaimed that the Germans were aMaster Race, a complete lie basedon another mistranslation. Nobody

ever made such a claim, but every-body in the world believes it.

Master Race means anything, whynot introduce the original term,Herrenvolk, into English as a for-

eign word, like hubris? If itmeans anything at all, it's essential-ly the same thing, but none of thesethings are uniquely Nazi or Ger-

man.In the meantime, there are still

100 million Master Race hits onGoogle and 200 million on Yahoo.

Hitler said some dumb things,like saying that we all feel that at

some time in the future the worldwill come to be ruled by one domi-nant race. Everybody does feel this,and always has. At the moment it

seems like it will be the Chinese.This is not a uniquely National So-cialist idea. It is as old as mankind.

Anybody can take a few shortparagraphs or sentences out of con-text from a 700-page book, mani-

pulate the translation, and presto!World War! It's something like

how Ahmadinejads Wipe Israeloff the map quote is mistranslated

and misused.

*** Jewish eyewitnesses toGerman monstrosity during WWIIare oftentimes demonstrable liars

and psychologically impaired inways too obvious to deny. OtherJewish eyewitnesses tell stories that

are largely true though in a contextof German monstrosity that usually

cannot be shown to have actuallyhappened. There are old and veryold Jewish women and men now

who go about the country talking to

and other mostly Jewish eyewit-nesses to German monstrositiesexposed themselves as being mo-rally and intellectually corrupt in

ways so obvious its beyond refuta-tion.

Still today there are eyewit-nesses who have no reputation in

the literature but go about tellingoftentimes crazy or demonstrably

false stories. When I read whatthese folk are saying, sometimesthere is the suggestion that whilewhat they are testifying to might be

untrue, they are not lying, or nolonger lying, that they have cometo actually believe what they aresaying.

In short, they are innocentsbasing their stories on lies they

heard years ago or on real memorythat is not dependable. To that

point, below are the opening sen-tences from my first book, Confes-sions of a Holocaust Revisionist.They refer to an incident that took

place with what turned out to be aremarkable fellow one night in1979 on the mezzanine of a Los

Angeles hotel during a conventionbeing held by the Libertarian Party.It turns out to be an illustration of

memory that is not dependable.==========

I PAUSED TO ACCEPT a pho-tocopy of a newspaper article he

was handing out when he quickly

started telling me that the storiesthat six million Jews had been ex-terminated during World War II arenot true.

I felt stunned, as if Buck Rogershad somehow come down from the21st century and zapped me with a

beam from his ray gun. I had heardabout people like the little man who

was confronting me, who deny thatthe Holocaust happened, but I hadnever actually seen one.

He was a small, thin, middle-aged man with a white pointy

beard, clear blue eyes and a ruddycomplexion. The picture of health.

He talked fast (though in a well-mannered, articulate way) as if hewere afraid he would lose me.

In the first instant I didnt trulygrasp what he was saying; then I

understood that he was telling methat there had been no Nazi gaschambersnonethat the stories Ihad heard all my life about the gas

chambers were meant to gain sym-pathy for Jews at the expense ofGermans. I felt my heart change its

beat and pick up speed. I felt sweatappear on the palms of my hands.

Most of that story is true. One

part is not. The man who handedme the newspaper clipping was not

a small man with a white pointybeard, clear blue eyes and a ruddy

complexion. When David McCal-den read what I had written, he cor-rected me. He explained that the

two men who handed out the LeMonde article by Faurisson thatafternoon and evening were himself

and his friend John Bennett, anAustralian. He said John Bennett

didnt look anything like the man Ihad described. I protested. I wascertain about what the man looked

like. He had stood there before me.

I had seen him. I could still see himin my minds eye. McCaldenlaughed at me, insisted that it hadto have been either himself or Ben-

nett.Sometime later, maybe a couple

years, I met John Bennett at an IHRconference. He told me whatMcCalden had told me earlier. It

was McCalden and he, Bennett,who had passed out that article thatday at the Libertarian convention. I

was shaking my head no. Wewere both laughing. I was certainabout what I had seenthe white

pointy beard, bright blue eyes, the

ruddy complexion. Nothing like theJohn Bennett who was there beforeme now. Later on I was to recordan interview with Bennett while

driving him someplace and wewent over the story again. It was

he, not a man with a white pointybeard and the rest of it.

The story had gotten to theplace where I was forced to under-

stand that in all likelihood mymemory of my encounter with theman in question was, well, false.But how could that be? I had noth-ing to gain from this false memory.Yet to this day, when I recall the

incident, now accepting the factthat the man who gave me the LeMonde article was John Bennett, inmy minds eye I still see the man

with the white pointy beard, theclear blue eyes and the ruddy com-

plexion. I accept the fact that it isan instance of false memory. I haveno idea why it still exists after thir-

ty-three years, why the brain pro-duced it in the first place, what

possible reason there could be for

this particular false memory topersist.

With this one example of falsememory, I place myself in thecompany of those Holocaust survi-

vors who themselves are plagued

with false memory. Filip Muellermight truly have seen buckets ofhuman flesh jump about on thefloor of German hospitals. Yankiel

Wiernik may have truly seen, inhis minds eye, the fetuses of Jew-ish ladies burning like torches intheir exploded wombs. How couldthey ever forget such sights? How

could they ever be convinced, oncethey had seen them, that they hadnot seen them? If I could see a

man with a white pointy beard whodid not exist, in place of the manwho did and was there before me,could not Mueller and Wiernik and

a boatload of other such Holocausteyewitness crazies have actuallyseen what they claim to have seen?

What I am getting at here is thathuman memory sometimes recalls

what truly happened, even aboutGermans, and sometimes it recallssomething else. That being so, it isof some import for me to keep in

mind that I share with even the cra-ziest Holocaust survivor eyewit-nesses a faculty that is imperfect,one that sometimes recalls withgreat clarity something that hap-

pened, and other times with great

clarity something that did not hap-pen. For me it suggests, once again,

for what its worth, that we are allin this together, revisionists and

True Believers alike.

I made a couple phone calls andwas told that there are a lot of CO-DOH stickers all over UCLA. Oth-er people write on them and aroundthem with a big dark Sharpie mark-

er with words like Nazi, SeigHeil, Jew Killer, Gay Killer,etc. Will they be billed? There are

similar promotional items all overcampus with a variety of messages

and equally messy, but those ap-pear to be ignored. Looks like wehave an independent CODOH ad-

mirer doing this. CODOH has noresponsibility.

Occurs to me that I should makethese stickers available again and
