Smithfield Foods is a company that operates in the
food industry worldwide, with outlets in 13 countries,held in wholly owned subsidiaries or joint ventures,
providing its customers healthy food products in a
responsible manner. Headquartered in Smithfield,
Virginia, our company currently produces more than50 brands of pork products and beef and more than
200 food "gourmet".

developing a range of social and charitable activitieswhose ultimate beneficiaries are the communities where
we operate.
Currently, our social involvement strategy is integrated
into our business strategy.Over the years we have had the pleasure of supporting
cultural events and support daily meat products,
organizations that care for the needy.

CSR Policy:
The company consolidated its CSR strategy, since2008. The first objective was to be recognized as a
respected member of the communities where it is
present, or in Timisoara and Utvin village (adjoining the
former compound Comte and 3 km from Timisoara).
Smithfield Prod community involvement has focused on
three areas: culture, education and society.

The company has sponsored several cultural festivals Banat region. Itis also willing to further support such events to preserve localvalues and traditions.
In education, the company collaborates with the Faculty of VeterinaryMedicine and Faculty of Food Technology, providing practical programsand training future specialists.
Following the tradition of the American group, Smithfield Prod focusedhis charitable efforts.
Through donations, the company has helped various disadvantagedgroups, the poor students of Utvin to people in the care of socialinstitutions. Since February 2009, she has institutionalized these
actions, releasing the "Food for the Soul". In it, the company donates aweek of pork products to a large number of organizations or institutionswho have the care of needy people.

Csr suggestions for Smithfield
A suggestion for Smithfield prod would be theimplementation of a school or college cantine
program that would allow the youth to learn about
the importance of healthy nutrition from an early
stage instead of mass consuming of fast food andunhealthy products.
