HIGHLIGHTSAs thermal‐actuators SMA springs are very specific products. The combination ofcomposition, heat treatment and operating conditions permits to cover a wide range ofactivation temperatures. Customized solutions may be developed to fulfill severalapplications.
At low temperature the Martensite phase presents low force. At high temperature the Austenite phase presents high force. The spring moves continuously between such extreme positions in noiseless operationwith a typical hysteresis of 15‐20°C.
As thermal‐actuator SMA spring follows the typical hysteresis curve duringtransformation according to the selected alloy.
