Invited teams are required to participate along with parents/guardians and coaches in the SMARTBALL “Reality Check” education forums to:
• Register student-athletes with SMARTBALL including PSAT/SAT scores and GPA tracking for benchmarking and measurement
• Review NCAA & NAIA freshman eligibility requirements
• Review NCAA & NAIA academic standards

LOCATION: Abraham Lincoln Park (135 and 5th Avenue Harlem, NY)
• Top 16 boys & girls public and parochial H.S. varsity teams in NYC-metro area
• One-game elimination
• No classroom…no court! After participating in the Invitational teams must attend the SMARTBALL “Reality Check” forum and SAT Prep workshops.

SMARTBALL continues during the academic-year when SMARTBALL school teams participate in SAT/ACT Diagnostic Testing and Prep Workshops.
Diagnostic SAT/ACT testing to benchmark student-athlete scores, strengths and weaknesses.
ACT/SAT Prep = 9-hour instructional workshops include: • Math Prep - 3 hours • Reading Prep - 3 hours • Essay Writing - 3 hours

• President & CEO of Math & English Consultants founded in 2000.
• Michael Marlowe’s Background:
• Kaplan - 16 years with Kaplan finishing as product director for the institutional sales division.
• Huntington Learning Centers - Michael recreated the SAT program and re-built their SAT division.
• He has written materials for all graduate level examinations, high school examinations, and high-stakes test examinations at all elementary levels.
• 2002: MEC published their first SAT books, both Math and Verbal. The Pathway SAT Program, by Math and English Consulting (MEC), comprehensive lesson books that deal with all strategies of the SAT.
• 2003 - present: MEC has worked with New Canaan High School conducting in-class SAT workshops for students. His efforts over the last 11 years have yielded tremendous results including H.S. SAT score increases in reading and math, outpacing state of Connecticut average SAT scores during that period and leading the school to top five state SAT performance ranking over the past 3 years.
