Why Utility

Utilities already have:

► Work crews

► Focus on safety

► Relationships with customers

► Understanding of city infrastructure

Utilities are part of the fabric

of the community

Growth trends

Growth Trends

► The smart city market is expected to grow from $38.8 billion in 2016 to $83.7 billion in 2025. A compound annual

growth rate (CAGR) of approx. 10%

► The North American market is expected to grow from almost $11 billion to more than $23 billion in this period

► Smart energy is the largest of the five sectors globally over the forecast period.

► North American cities are also increasingly focused on innovation in urban mobility (e.g., DOT Smart City Challenge)

► The fastest growing sector will be water, as cities seek to address water scarcity and the problems of an aging

distribution infrastructure
