INTRODUCTION

• In this project we deal fully/partially about to overcome a drawback in the game of cricket which has become one of the major issues of time constraints and accuracy in international and national level.

• The existing methodology wherein cameras are used in decision making process is unable to give accurate results since there is high probability of human error where the umpire may perceive the data/video clipping wrongly.

METHODOLGY

• This electronic system works as an assistant for the third umpire so as to give out results with high precision at lightning speeds

• Sensors are placed below the earth surface of play area where the wickets are placed

• Along with the sensors beneath the play area,contact switches are placed on the stumps to detect when the bales are off

• The electrical signals are processed by the Siemens controller used with the analog input module

• The so obtained real time data from the sensor are interfaced with SCADA screen on the PC

ADVANTAGES

ADVANTAGES• Decisions are made in a fraction of second whereas the

existing system takes minutes together.• Saving even a second would save a huge amount of money

in short duration format such as T-20.• 100% accurate decisions so as to make the game fair.• The existing system to detect run out make uses of 4 HD-

Ultra Zoom Cameras which costs lot more than our system.• Power consumption is much lesser than the existing camera

based system.

CURRENT STATUS

• Have learnt basic PLC programming (ladder logic).• Learnt to establish a connection between PLC an PC

using Ethernet.• Have interfaced load cell to PLC.• About to write ladder logic/PLC programing to our

project.
