STUART VANCE: Relics from the Age of CarbonTuesday, January 20 – Saturday, March 7

The artist is interested in theformal, abstract qualities of freeways, highways, interchanges, railroads bridges, and other human-mademegastructures. He sees these objects as nostalgic artifacts from the golden age of carbon-based fuels.

They evoke bittersweet feelings of loss and regret, harkening back to a time when many did not considerhow the environment and our natural inheritancewere being affected. These megastructures were once celebrated as facilitators of commerce, communication – and even love – but now are often seen as chaotic tangles out of which we mustsomehow find our way.

NICOLE T SCHAMPELMonday, March 23 – Saturday, April 25

In her latest body of work,Tschampel utilizes both mainstream media and historic imagery ofmagicians, healers, and spiritual guides to create a multi-media installation dealing with the themesof faith, perception, and artistic creation.
