In 1997 I left England on a journey to Fiji in the South Pacifi c Ocean. After spending several months travelling around the beautiful Islands, I fell in love with the place and the people, so I decided to pursue my dreams, and career in Suva, the capital of Fiji. Despite 2 Military Coups and some hardships, in 2003 my dream of establishing a successful design company, had become reality with the formation of Webmedia Ltd.

The company has now become a highly respected organisation, with clients all over the Asia Pacifi c region, and USA. Clients include Vodafone, British American Tobacco, BP Oil, Air Pacifi c and many other leading companies, organisations and resorts in the region.

Throughout my career I have acquired a broad spectrum of experience, with a variety of design projects. I worked as the senior designer to Fiji’s largest commercial printers & packaging press for several years, which gave me invaluable production and pre-press experience.

In recent years, I have switched focus to web design, since this has been the largest growth area for my business.

Natadola Marine Resort Project is a US$1.3 Billion development and once completed in 2009 will be one of the premier Integrated Resort Developments in the Asia Pacifi c Region.

The Resort Complex will feature 3 Luxury Hotels, including an island Spa Resort, Marina and Luxury Residential Estates, all built around a Championship Golf course designed by Vijay Singh.

I have established a very close relationship with the French developers over the last 3 years, and we have worked together on many design projects, including branding, brochures, prospectus, newsletters, websites, photography, signage and Interactive DVDs.

The most recent project for Natadola was a 30 minute TV Documentary, in which I interviewed Championship Golfer and golf course designer Vijay Singh.

British American Tobacco Fiji (BAT) has been a client of mine for many years. Most of the work has been for the Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Department, which is responsible for providing education about the risks of smoking, which includes many different POS materials, health warnings and under-age smoking, that can be found in every shop and restaurant in the majority of the South Pacifi c nations.The corporate design guidelines and branding are supplied by the London Head Offi ce, which have to be followed carefully.

On two separate occasions I have designed and produced the company’s Social Reports, which are biannual publications. They are part of the oranisations global initiative to towards social accountability. These reports were produced and sent all around the world, and were commended by the marketing head offi ce in London.

Foods Pacifi c Limited is the largest food processing company in the South Pacifi c region, and the second largest cannery in the Southern Hemisphere.

The company produces quality meat and fi sh products, savoury sauces, jams, Indian and specialist island foods. Recently, they have invested millions of dollars into a state of the art facility to cook and package more complicated food products.

I was asked to develop a variety of branding and packaging concepts for a new product line “Taste of India”. These Frozen Indian Ready Meals were designed for the international export markets of Australia, New Zealand and Europe.

In the last few years I have designed many promotional posters and advertisements across a broad spectrum of industries. My international clients include Coca Cola, Vodafone, ANZ Bank, Mobil Oil, BP Oil, Mazda Cars, Courts Homecentres and UNIFEM. Other large clients from the region include Air Pacifi c, Telecom Fiji, FINTEL, Fiji Development Bank, Fiji Television, Fiji Broadcasting, Tappoo’s Duty Free Group, Blue Gas, Fiji Electricity Authority, South Pacifi c Tourism, Fiji Visitors Bureau, Flour Mills of Fiji, University of the South Pacifi c, Housing Authority of Fiji, Trade NZ, Adventist Church, Fiji Prime Minister’s Offi ce and many others.

During a visit back to UK in 2002, I attended a webdesign course in London. Shortly after returning to Fiji I teamed up with my current American and Indian partners, and formed the company Webmedia Ltd, a decision which has lead me down the path to where I am today.

The last few years Webmedia has grown, we now employ many talented people, recent projects have included the high profi le for Fiji Broadcasting Corporation, and USA’s premier petfood manufacturer Old Mother Hubbard.


T E C H N I C A L K N O W L E D G E

Website Development.

I have thorough understanding of the Internet industry and e-commerce, e-marketing and have I designed over 70 websites with my team of designers and programmers. I have experience with web project planning and team management.

Photography.

This has been a hobby as well as part of my work, I have had the great luxury of photographing much of the natural beauty and people in the South Pacifi c, including aerial photography for resorts.

Computer Hardware.

Fifteen years of Personal Computing, mostly on Mac’s – but I am equally at home on Windows. I am used to handling all associated peripherals, devices and printers.

Computer Software.

I am totally profi cient in using the following computer programs – All Adobe Creative Suite applications, QuarkXpress; Freehand; Painter ; and also the usual Mac iLife software and Microsoft Offi ce.

Print Production/Pre-press.

Having worked in a commercial printers for a few years, I have a good knowledge of the printing and pre-press industry. While working for the press, I travelled to Australia and New Zealand to research Computer To Plate (CTP) solutions for the company. I have a very good understanding of commercial offset and packaging technologies.
