Slime recipe – non-toxic Involve children in the making of slime for a delightful sensory experience. Use lots of new and interesting words to describe the slime and how it moves. Share a written copy of the recipe and talk about what we use recipes for. Point out the numbers that show how much to use and the order we need to do the steps in. SLIME Ingredients 4 tablespoons corn starch 3 tablespoons dish soap Food colouring (optional) Mixing bowl Spoon Method Squeeze dish soap into a bowl. (Great for strengthening your child’s grip) Stir in food colouring a couple of drops at a time, or for sparkly slime, stir in the glitter. (Together, describe the changes and colours you see) Add the corn starch to the mixture. (See the dish soap thickening as it turns into slime and describe it) Stir all the ingredients together for about 10 seconds. (Count with your child) Finish kneading the slime by hand until everything comes together. TIPS Use cornflour if corn starch is unavailable. Store in an airtight container Talk Play Sing Read
