Sliet Robotics & Automation Society Vision Towards Machine… SLIET Robotics and Automation society (SRAS) an organization of Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal that provides students with the resources to develop robots. Society deal with workshops and projects related to automation and Robotics. SRAS slowly ahead in the world of automation. Society deals with the design, construction, operation, structural disposition, manufacture and application of robots. SLIET Robotics and Automation society (SRAS) an organization of Sant Longowal Institute

of Engineering and Technology, Longowal that provides students with the resources to develop

robots. Society deal with workshops and projects related to automation and Robotics. SRAS

World Robotics Championship (WRC) and the International Robotics League(IRL) 3rd

edition of Technoxian’17 was organized by Times world Group in association with Ministry

of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and All India Council of Robotics and

Automation from 28th - 30th April, 2017 in the Indira Gandhi Indoor Sports Complex, New

Delhi. Over 12 countries and more than 2000 teams participated in the overall championship.

Several competitions were employed in the event including Senior robotics league, Junior

Robotics League, Fastest Line follower, Robo Race, Robo Soccer, Robo War, Quadcopter

Challenge, RC Craft Challenge, Micro mouse, Water Rocket, etc.

The bot completed the arena within a time span of 1min 37sec with 3 penalties for going off

track through the complete process. The SRAS through the efforts of all its members were

successful in grabbing the #Worldwide 3rd Position in the Senior Robotics Championship

in International Robotics League –2017 and won cash prizes and many more coupons

from robotics companies.

SLIET Team at IG Stadium Complex, New Delhi

SLIET Robotics and Automation Society (SRAS) took part in the International Robotics

League Senior Robotics Competition in the Robo Race Challenge. The event included a certain

specified arena with several hurdles and uneven tracks with variable levels of difficulty for

proper competition among the participants.

Teams from all the parts of the country and from the nearby nations too were present in the

event. The senior Robotics Challenge involved 25 teams for the Robo Race Event. The

objective was that the robot should follow a track marked with a line with lots of hurdles. The

whole robot must start behind the starting mark and is considered to have crossed the finishing

line if any part of the robot crosses it when the robot has completed a full lap of the course.

The robot could be either wired or wireless within the specified dimensions that can operated

manually and can travel through all turns of the track. The robot that will complete the specified

task in least time will be the winner.

The society conducts many workshops for the students of the college. Such that:-

1) Two Days Robotics Workshop on Infra-Red Sensor based (HookerBotz 1.0) conducted

by i3indya Pvt. Ltd. At Sliet, Longowal on 12th and 13th December 2015 for 200 under

graduate students which is sponsored by TEQIP-II.

2) One day Free workshop on PLC-SCADA conducted by Ducat Pvt. Ltd. At Sliet,

Longowal on 12th of August, 2016 for 150 under graduate students for technical

knowledge improvement.

3) Two days Free Robotics workshop on Mesh Flare conducted by Techienest Pvt. Ltd.

At Sliet, Longowal on 18th and 19th September 2016 in association with IIT Bombay

for techfest for 200 students of different streams.

4) Two days Robotics workshop on Sixth sense Technology (Vision Botics) conducted by

i3indya technology Pvt. Ltd. At Sliet, Longowal on 22nd and 23rd October 2016 for 100

undergraduate students which is sponsored by TEQIP-II.
