SlideShare is a Web 2.0 based slide hosting service. Users can upload files privately or publicly in the following file formats: PowerPoint, PDF, Keynote or Open Document presentations.

Slide decks can then be viewed on the site itself, on hand held devices or embedded on other sites. Launched on October 4, 2006, the website is considered to be similar to YouTube, but for slideshows.

The website was originally meant to be used for businesses to share slides among employees more easily, but it has since expanded to also become a host of a large number of slides that are uploaded merely to entertain. Although the website is primarily a slide hosting service, it also supports documents, PDFs, videos and webinars.

This tool can be used to introduce the new topics , in this case comparative and superlative adjectives in a significant way.First, before showing the material, I would elicit questions regarding hometowns, favorite places, weather and activities that the usually enjoy doing it, one the information is provided written down on the board to practice comparative and comparatives, before sharing this presentation. Giving students a lot of input to produce language, then slowly introducing exceptions.

In this matter rules will be part of the process smoothly, since student and teacher would be building them together. Once they have a general idea about it, little by little the slides would be projected in order to reinforce what they have learnt. Also, the link can be sent by email to each student, so that they can access the material at any moment.it is important to use this tool, because students are likely to search materials on the web about a topic studied, slideshare has many resources, then it would provide them the opportunity to see similar materials and watch them to receive more input.

Example:

Angelina Jolie is older than Jennifer Lopez

With 1 syllable adjective ending in consonant + vowel + consonant (hot, big) double the last consonant and add _er_

Cartagena is hotter than Manizales

With 2 syllable adjectives ending in y (noisy, happy) change the y to _i_ and add _er__

Bogotá is noisier than Manizales

With the most other 2 syllable and 3 syllable adjectives (interesting ), put _more before the adjective

Jenifer Lopez is more beautiful than Angelina

The comparatives for good and bad are irregular:
