UPGRADE TO A HOTEL
The Hostel we have chosen is excellent. It is comfortable, safe, represents superb value for money and is located where you can be in the heart of Newcastle within minutes. However, we know that they are not for everyone. You are able to upgrade your tour to a 3* City Hotel or a 4* Hotel in the outskirts of Newcastle for £25 per person, per night. You will get a little more creature comfort, but if like many, the budget is the key to the tour, then you have our word that the Hostels will certainly surprise.

INTRODUCING: NEWCASTLE We thoroughly believe that on the eighth day, the Good Lord put an axis into
the ground in Newcastle City Centre and declared that the World shall re-
volve around this magnificent place for eternity.
We may be slightly biased about our fantastic home city, but show me a per-
son who leaves here disappointed and we'll admit defeat. Newcastle pos-
sesses a vibrant atmosphere like no other. Whether it be by day on the bus-
tling hives of Northumberland Street and Grey Street, or at night on the
World Class Quayside or eyebrow raising Bigg Market.
Being based near the city gives us un-rivalled knowledge, friendships and
connections with Rugby Clubs, Hotels and Activity providers. Our knowledge
and experience in arranging tours up here goes directly into the plans for
your tour. Giving you those pieces of information and assistance that you
wouldn't otherwise find.
It's not all attitude and late nights. The city is truly beautiful. Take a walk
down Grey Street, along a Georgian Boulevard ranked as the third best street
in England, under the drastic railway bridge before getting to the Quayside -
undoubtedly one of Britain's most stunning waterside developments. It is no
wonder that Lonely Planet had Newcastle in it's top 10 places to visit in 2011.
A short drive from Newcastle can take you into the breath-taking Northum-
brian countryside. Home to rolling green hills, salmon filled rivers, Hadrian’s
Wall and the magnificent coastline, Northumberland itself would be a tour
highlight.
Newcastle has a huge sporting culture. Numerous Rugby Clubs with stand-
ards to match all, mixes with some of the strongest University Rugby in the
country and a selection of excellent School Rugby programmes.
Rugby in the North-East revolves around the local AVIVA Premiership team,
Newcastle Falcons. The halcyon days when Jonny Wilkinson et al dominated
the English game have sadly passed, but with a stellar coaching set up and an
ambitious owner, the good days set to be back on the horizon for the Fal-
cons.

INTRODUCING: SPORT CENTRAL During your pre-season tour to Newcastle, your Strength, Conditioning and
Swimming Pool sessions will take place at Sport Central, a £30m facility be-
longing to Northumbria University located in the heart of Newcastle, just a 5
minute walk from your accommodation.
In your itinerary, we have included a range of sessions that makes the most
of the exceptional S&C, Fitness and Pool facilities at Sport Central and gives
you the abilities to keep your training programme intense yet varied.
Throughout the process, you are in control of your programme and it can be
tailored to your requirements.
The facilities at Sport Central, are an integral part of Northumbria University
striving to become a major player in the United Kingdom for Sporting Excel-
lence, competing with the more traditional sporting Universities of Lough-
borough and Bath.
The strength, fitness, conditioning and educational elements to the week will
be held at a magnificent development in Newcastle City Centre. The facility,
which opened in May 2010 provides outstanding sports science facilities, an
elite environment for training, development and competition.
This was all done for the focus sports in the university, with Rugby Union top-
ping the list.
In all, Sport Central boasts a six-lane 25m Swimming Pool; coach education
facilities; sports science laboratories; a 500 seater lecture hall; a four-lane
sixty metre sprint track equipped with laser technology; a dedicated strength
and conditioning environment plus a 700sqm fully equipped 150-station fit-
ness suite with the most up-to-date equipment.
All facilities are available for your use.
When you throw in the UK’s largest indoor climbing wall and a sports arena
large enough to hold 3,000 spectators the venue is incomparable with any-
thing in the UK.

INTRODUCING: BULLOCKSTEADS SPORTS GROUND Your ‘Pitch-Time’ during the training camp will take place at Bullocksteads
Sports Ground, an immaculate facility based on the outskirts of Newcastle
City Centre.
During each two hour session, you will have access to changing facilities, the
clubhouse and bar, training equipment, scrum machine and the excellent
pitches.
Catering at Bullocksteads is also available. During the tour, you will have
lunch here following each morning session, or ahead of each afternoon ses-
sion. Lunch generally includes a Pasta based main meal with bread, water
and salad.
Bullocksteads is the chosen training and playing venue for the Rugby Union,
Rugby League, Football and Gaelic Football teams at Northumbria University.
The facility offers four full size rugby pitches with one being a fenced match
pitch. All pitches are prepared to a very high standard and are marked to RFU

TESTIMONIALS FROM TEAMS JUST LIKE YOURS “An awesome four days of pre-season training and highly recommend it to
any other school or club. The organisation of the four days and the train-
ing facilities were top class. The early morning gym and pool session with
four hours of training was the perfect way to start the season. The morn-
ing beach session was a highlight alongside the evening activities in partic-
ular the all you can eat meat buffet and Newcastle Falcons game. Many
thanks to Richie and the Sky High Sports team and we will certainly be re-
turning next year.”
CHARLIE SUTTON, PANGBOURNE COLLEGE, NEWCASTLE TOUR 2013
“We wanted to use our tour as an opportunity for a pre-season training
camp in order to help with team bonding and quality practice. Newcastle
is a great city and the players enjoyed social aspects of dinner out in the
town and the MetroCentre. The facilities we were able to access were tre-
mendous. Sports Central is a great environment to bring young players in
to and the chance to meet professional athletes and see a premiership
club in action were the icing on the cake. This is our second visit to the
North East with Sky High Sports and the level of attention and support
given by the staff was outstanding. Everything ran extremely smoothly
and we will certainly be back.”
NICK GRESSWELL, KINGS COLLEGE TAUNTON, NEWCASTLE TOUR 2013
“I thought the Festival and Tour were a great experience for our players.
The hostel is great and the facilities at the University were very useful.
Having the Sky High Sports team on hand to answer any questions and
show us around was also very useful and Richard did a great job of this.
The boys loved the trip to Hawick to watch the Falcons play Edinburgh.
We will be bringing our senior and possibly our U15 squads to the Festival
next year as the whole experience was great preparation for the season
ahead.”
BEN MAHONEY, BERKHAMSTED SCHOOL, NEWCASTLE TOUR, 2013
“A quick thank-you for the Festival and Tour. The guys had a great time. It
was just what was needed. We enjoyed the Old Albanians game at Tyne-
dale, and were very impressed by the club.”
DICK MOWBRAY, BERKHAMSTED SCHOOL, NEWCASTLE TOUR 2012
"I thought that the training camp was superb and we really enjoyed the
visit, the hostel was a perfect venue and the trip to the Falcons and access
to Bullocksteads was first class. The boys enjoyed this aspect especially.
Transport was first rate, Communication and contact with yourselves was
brilliant and nice to know the Sky High Sports team were close by. In
terms of games it was fairly spot on. We all loved Sport Central - what a
brilliant facility, it was great to have access to it! I would highly recom-
mend Newcastle & Sky High as good venues and companies."

Sky High Sports is delighted to work with BLK Sport, one of the most
dynamic rugby-specialist apparel brands in the UK. BLK arrived in Eu-
rope from Australia with a bang in 2012, and is already the brand of
choice for Stade Toulousain, The Ospreys & Connacht. Their range of
stash is exceptional, their prices as good as it gets and their bespoke
design-your-own facility leads to limitless options.
BLK isn’t just a name, it’s an attitude driven by a deliberate and defining
insight - that nothing new ever comes from the known; that real innova-
tion, real design and real improvements in performance come only from
operating outside the boundaries of everything that’s gone before.
This absolute refusal to merely repeat or refine the past but to relent-
lessly push beyond all limits known, is a philosophy instilled in BLK from
its early beginnings as KooGa Australia.
Today that philosophy is reflected in the ground-breaking training gear
and performance apparel worn by over 4,000 teams around the world,
including national representative sides such as the Manu Samoa Rugby
Union, Fiji Rugby Union & USA Rugby.
To download a brochure, see the price list and try the kit-designer, visit

As a tour organiser it is your responsibility to ensure that all members
of your touring party have the appropriate documentation. This in-
cludes passports, Visa’s (if required), EHIC (E111 equivalent) plus any
insurance documentation amongst others. Please leave at least 70
days to obtain all these documents. You must mention at time of
enquiry whether any members of your group have any special needs
or requirements including physical, dietary or any other. You should
contact a doctor if you are in doubt about your fitness to travel. For
more advice visit www.fco.gov.uk and visit your local Post Office to
obtain a copy of ‘Health Advice for Travellers’.
Behaviour
In signing the booking form you, the tour organiser, accept responsi-
bility for the behaviour of yourself and your touring party for the
duration of the tour and therefore you are liable for any damage or
loss caused by your group. Full payment for the damage must be
paid at the time. You will be responsible for meeting all costs
(including both parties legal costs) involved in any subsequent claims
made against either Sky High Sports or your group. If the behaviour
of any of your tour party is deemed unacceptable by Sky High Sports
staff, suppliers or agents we reserve the right to terminate your tour
without refund. Sky High Sports will be entitled to recover from the
touring party the costs of any damage or loss to Sky High or our sup-
pliers and agents, caused by the group. Please be aware that alcohol
consumption may invalidate your insurance and appropriate care
should be taken when under the influence of alcohol.
