    IT (1-2 interns)

    The IT Interns primary responsibility will be the maintenance of computers in the volunteer house and theimprovement of the SKIP service user database. In addition, the position involves design improvement and maintenanceof the SKIP website.

    The SKIP creative arts program involves 9 primary groups between the ages of 5 and 13 years and 2 secondary groups between13 and 17 years. For many of the participants these classes are the first exposure to art. The main goal of the program is toencourage these students to find their voice and express their feelings freely through a variety of mediums. We are seekingto facilitate personal development for our students through art, dance, theatre, song, games, and other types of creativeexpression.

    The Art Teaching Leader will be responsible for creating, delivering and evaluating classes to different age groups.They will be expected to:

    Creatively deliver all the objectives in the curriculum Add to and develop the curriculum Deliver classes/projects that are relevant to the students' lives, community, country and beliefs Evaluate participants' progress and each project

    Economic Development (1 intern)

    The Economic Development Department supports SKIP families in the creation of sources of sustainable income throughthe provision of micro-credits, group and individual consulting, and a program of productive workshops. We work withmore than 130 families through two distinct projects:

    Micro-creditswe offer micro-credits that will help generate a new source of income for families, along withbusiness workshops and support and advice in the launch of new businesses. Small loans are also offered tocarry out home improvements and cover health emergencies.

    Productive workshopswe have developed three types of workshops that allow SKIP mothers to develop certainproductive skill, such as sewing, weaving and production of jewelry. We also offer business workshops and,through the work of our volunteers, support the mothers in the commercialization and sale of their products.

    The intern will be under the supervision of the productive workshops manager and the Coordinator of EconomicDevelopment. He or she is responsible for facilitating and supervising the daily development of the productivehandicrafts workshops that are carried out with the mothers of SKIP families three times a week.

    Specific responsibilities:

    Session planning and supervision of the development of productive workshops Maintenance of effective communication with the mothers that attend the workshops Administration of the projects Improving the design of products Ensuring supply of materials Identification of new opportunities to commercialize and sell the products

    Requirements:

    Some familiarity with tools of administration, commercialization and design Interest in both the creative aspects and the logistics of the position Ability to transmit skills and knowledge, and to hear and take on board suggestions Empathy, open-mindedness and friendship in all dealings with the mothers Capacity for teamwork, but also initiative and independent work

    The Education department is the largest department within SKIP, with over 350 children enrolled from 4 to 18 years old. Ourmission is to create an exciting, stimulating and engaging school environment complete with learning structures and toolsthat promote sound intellectual development and sustained interest in learning.

    This volunteer position is appropriate for those who are new to teaching English and need support and training to plan their

    lessons, as well as those with more teaching experience. You will teach children in local public schools as well as at the SKIP(Supporting Kids In Peru) Centre.

    We take a dynamic approach to teaching the children and so lessons are activity-based and interactive. There are lotsof games and songs to keep the children engaged so they can enjoy learning in a fun environment. These methodsdiffer greatly from those used in Peru and it is extremely rewarding to see the children keen to study English and learnmore.Under supervision of the English Teaching Coordinator, who is a qualified EFL teacher, and following a written curriculum,volunteers will plan and deliver lessons with a co-teacher.
