Human Skeleton We need our bones so we

can walk, jump, and dance.

We need our bones to protect the soft parts inside of us.

Without bones you’d be floppy like a beanbag. Without bones you’d be just a puddle of skin and guts on the floor.

How is the whale skeleton the same as the human skeleton?

They both have a skull and a backbone.

How is the whale skeleton different?

Whales don’t have a lower skeleton. (no pelvis or leg bones)

Baboon Skeleton

How is the baboon skull the same as the human skull?

The skull is rounded to protect the brain and has similar eye sockets.

How is the baboon skull different from the human skull?

Part of the baboons skull extends to cover his “nose” where a human nose contains no bones.
