Reflection:

"You are the salt of the earth...You are the light of the world..."

Salt and light are indispensable in our daily life. Without them, we run

into major problems. We use salt to prepare a delicious meal and rely

on light to go about our normal activities. Christian witnessing is even

more necessary in our times when the media seldom promote Chris-

tian values, making many people believe they are fighting a lonely

battle without any outside support. People feel more and more God's

absence in this world. True Christians are needed to make his presence

felt.

Salt and light have something in common. They are not appreciated for

themselves. They become valuable when they function in the right con-

text. We do not eat salt as a course. It must be mixed with other food.

We do not switch on the light to look at a bulb but to see people and

our surroundings. So is our Christian life. We cannot be good Christian

in isolation. We have to stay in the world and give meaning to what

happens there. It is our

relation with God and

others that makes us

become good Christians.

A Christian without good

works is not genuine.

6:30 pm in Church

As we celebrate Valentine’s

Day, let us remember:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does

not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self

-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record

of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices

with the truth. It always protects, always trusts,

always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails … 1Corinthians 13: 4-8

Reflection: How can we be the torch of God’s love

especially for the lonely, the sick, the homeless, the

poor, and the vulnerable? How can we show our grati-

tude for God’s unconditional love, grace, and mercy?

National Marriage Week

This February 7-14, 2020, we will cele-brate National Marriage Week! This annual observance is a great prompt for everyone to reflect on the gift marriage is to our Church and our country, as well as an opportunity for couples to build up their own marriages. This year our theme is: Stories from the Domestic Church. Here’s how you can join us: Spend a little dedicated time in prayer and reflection by participating in our seven-day virtual re-treat (available in pdf in English and Spanish) fo-cused on marriage. This year the retreat theme is “Stories from the Domestic Church.” Sign up to receive the retreat via email during National Marriage

Week 2020 here.

Share our National Marriage Week Flyer, available
