With an overall indoor footprint of 149,384 square feet and a training surface of 129,600 square feet, the SJAC is now the largest indoor practice facility in Division I Athletics. The SJAC accommodates year round training for all sports and will serve over 550 student athletes. The most frequent users will be the outdoor sports including football, track and field, cross country, soccer, baseball, softball and golf. This facility will also present opportunities for other campus and community events. The SJAC is a ‘world-class’ practice/competition facility for track & field. Its 8-lane | 300 meter track is one of the best track surfaces in the United States. Dedicated areas for field events including pole vault, long jump, triple jump, etc. are another unique feature of the SJAC. With its distinctive Jackrabbit Blue color, the Beynon ESS 1000 Dual Durometer Tuned Synthetic Surface with Hobart Texture will set new standards for Division 1 Athletics. Now that the SJAC is open, there are only five (5) 300 meter indoor track facilities in intercollegiate sports including facilities at Akron, Grand Valley State, Iowa State and Kent State. & DANA J. DYKHOUSE FOOTBALL STADIUM

The Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex (SJAC) marks the completion of the second phase of South Dakota State University’s new outdoor sports complex including the Dykhouse Student Athlete Center and the new Dana J. Dykhouse Football Stadium. With ribbon cutting today, we are now on to Phase 3 - The Dana J. Dykhouse Football Stadium. For phase 3, upcoming milestones include the opening of the east and south seating areas for the 2015 season with final completition of the complex in 2016 with the grand opening of the west sideline.
