SITUATION WHERE I HAD TO PERSUADE OTHERS

I have worked with Oracle for 3 years after my graduation from NIT Warangal. During the frst few days of my corporate life, I was asked to develop an enhancement for the product I was working on. The sole purpose of this task was to assess my skills and thought process . I have to come up with the strategy, design and once the design is approved, I need to develop the design into a working model. I was given a week's time. I came up with the strategy and got it approved with the higher managment and got it developed well before time. This enhancement to reach a wide range of customers needs to be incorporated in hundred Generic datafix files which was a huge task at the moment it was development. There was an opportunity which came up when the management decided to revisit all the Generic Datafixes and implement the new standards. I proposed to implement my enhancement inclusion as part of this huge project.I have faced many objections since the customer base is huge and if any issue comes up because of my enhancement it will be needed to be addressed immediately. I assured them that I would tke responsibility and fix any issue that might come up because of my enhancement and fix it in 24 hours. Also, I convinced them that customers do not know what they need all the time and that we need to go a step forward and provide them innovative solutions.The enhancement was implemented and it received huge response from the customers as it resulted in huge cost cutting for them. It aslo recived a special mention from the Vice President of my product group.
