plane and talked with each other.

The official delegation followed the First Ladies off in order of rank.
President Johnson and President Diaz Ordaz were greeted at the bottom of the ramp
by Hon. John B. Connally, Governor of Texas and

REMARKS by the President the President intorduced Governor John Connally, and______^ he was booed, and it was heard "Get him out", etc. The President went on without
pausing, hoping the booes would go unnoticed. ___
I Departed the Hilton Inn, same occupants in the car for motorcade via super highway _______to downtown El Paso for parade--large crowds were gathered on either side of thestreet, and along the parade route were 15 bands.

} Arrived the Santa Fe Bridge where the motorcade halted where the Presidents andj First Ladies walked to the side of the bridge to view construction on the Chamizali Monument. The new boundary was marked with yellow flags, The Presidents unveiled! the monument of the new Mexican border (12:05pm). Then the Presidents mounted theI open Mexican Presidential limousine, the First Ladies returned to the President's bubble! top . ^.__^i. ^--—^--——-—--- .1 ——— ^ ^ ^ ^ ^—i Departed the Santa Fe Bridge for motorcade through downtown Juarez to the Chamizal^ Monument there was much confetti thrown from the building tops. Along the roads
were uniformed military standing, at present arms. Space d between the soldiers weregirls in white blouses and colorful skirts holding Mexican and American flags.

Following the President's atMHHatBr remarks, Foreign Minister Carrillo Floresintroduced President Diaz Ordaz for his remarks. —____^
The Presidents descended from the podium to sign the proclamation of transfer ofland. (The Mexican Government therm, made a gift to the President of the table onwhich the proclamation was signed. The President asked Col. Cross to have it takento the offices in the federal Office Building in Austin. )
The Presidents entered the open limo doorThe First Ladies entered President'Johnson's car. and the motorcade departed forCordova Bridge.
The motorcade arrived at Cordova Bridge. Here grandstands were built along theside of the bridge for the spectators. The PResidents and First Ladies walked to thecenter of the bridge where the First Ladies were greeted by two costumed 10-year-olds(one Mexican and one American) and then they cut the ribbon which opened the bridge .The Presidents and First Ladies walked to the Mexican flagpole and President Diaz Ordaz raraised the Mexican flag as a MHHtH^j bugle was played. They then walked a few pacesto the American flag pole where the President raised the American flag. The Presidentsand First Ladies then walked to the boundary marker a few feet away and stood at attentionwhile the National Anthems were played. The First Ladies and Presidents bid each othergoodbye.
The President and Mrs. Johnson departed the bridge * for the airportw/ Governor John Connally andMarvin Watson in the car with them.
Arrived El Paso International Airport--the car drew up along side the waiting jetstar--the spook--.

Immediately after boarding the plane, the President changed into his ranch clothes,then had a diet coke. The President and Governor Connally visited on manysubject during the flight--HHmn<h Hemisfaire plans, the Univ. of Texas footballteam, etc.
The jetstar landed at the Ranch, and the PResident and Mrs. Johnson said goodbyeto Gov. Connally who rode on to Austin. The President then rode to the houseon the golf cart w/ JRJ, mf, and mb. Mrs. Johnsonian and Helen Williamswalked on to the house.
The President, Mrs. Johnson, mf, and mb departed the main house in theLincoln sedan.
Stopped to talk to Dale Meeks on the Dantz Ranch--Dale got in the car to ride andlook at the condition and where abouts of the deer, turkeys, etc.
