To Those I Love and Those Who Love Me
“I’ll Be Waiting for You”
Although your heart may be broke,
There’s no need to weep for me.
I’m in a wonderful place now,
Where I’m happy and carefree.
I had to go, but I’ve left behind
Good memories to comfort you.
Concentrate on the best times we had,
And try not to feel so sad.
For on day we’ll be together again,
To laugh and sing and play.
You’ll be so glad to see me again,
It will seem I was gone just one day.
To My Husband, Mother, Father,
Pastor, Brothers, Sister,
Family and Friends
In Loving Memory of my
“Special Wife”
The day you left and gained your wings, my heart just broke in two
I wish you could have stayed with me, but Heaven needed you
You left me with the memories, and I love you dearly still
No matter how much time goes by, you know I always will
You were a very special person, with kindness in your heart
And the love we had together, grows stronger now we’re apart
I know I cannot bring you back, although I wish it everyday
But a piece of me went with you, the day you went away.
Your darling husband,
Ray Pugh

To My Daughter
On April 13th, God looked around his garden and he noticed an empty space,
He then looked down upon his Earth, and he noticed Lavida’s tired face,
He put his loving arms around her and pulled her to rest, God’s garden must be
beautiful y’all, he always picks the best.
Now I know the family chain has been broken and the links are out of our
hands, but just as has God’s picks us one by one, surely that chain will link
again.
Love always, Daddy
Remembering the Life of
Lavida Learnetta Pugh (Andrews)
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4
On Tuesday, April 13, 2020, about 4:40 in the evening. God came after preparing a place
for our loved one, Mrs. Lavida Learnetta Pugh (Andrews) and receive her unto Himself.
Mrs. Lavida Learnetta Pugh was born on February 13, 1977 to Mr. Tony Robinson and
Mrs. Brenda L. Logan (Andrews).
Mrs. Lavida L. Pugh grew up with her family whom she loved very much. At an early age,
Lavida became ill, but she did not let that discourage her. Lavida continued her education
at Laurel City Schools and became ill once more. Still, she continued her education and
graduated from R.H. Watkins High School. Lavida furthered her studies at Jones Junior
College.
Lavida confessed her love for Christ and joined Providence Baptist Church where she sang
in the children choir. She transferred her membership to Mt. Hebron Baptist Church under
the leadership of her stepfather, Pastor Arthur F. Logan, Jr., and sang in the choir there
also. After becoming an adult, Lavida became a member of Union Baptist Church where
her stepfather pastored. Lavida loved taking care of the elderly and they all loved her. She
enjoyed taking them to doctor visits, grocery shopping, and even to church. She will be
missed by many.
Lavida was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Ray Pugh. God blessed their union until her
death. Lavida was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Mr. John E. Andrews;
maternal grandmother, Mrs. Johnnie Mae Andrews; paternal grandfather, Mr. Joe
Robinson; paternal grandmother, Rachael Robinson; two uncles: Mitchell Andrews and
Michael E. Andrews; three aunts: Olivia J. McGee, Shelia Ann Andrews, Lora Andrews;
and her mother-in-law, Sarah Lee Pugh.
Lavida leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Mr. Ray Pugh of Laurel, MS; her
father, Mr. Tony Robinson; her mother, Mrs. Brenda L. Logan; her stepfather, Pastor
Arthur F. Logan, Jr.; her god-father, Mr. James E. Townsend; all from Laurel, MS; her
father-in-law, L.C. Pugh, from Heidelburg, MS; three brothers: Dennis Ray (Marcella)
Andrews of Tallahassee, FL., Carlos N. (Jamilah) Andrews of Goodman, MS, Anthonio
(Calea) Robinson of Bay Springs, MS; one sister Atonia K. Andrews Bender from Laurel,

A Letter from Heaven
When tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not here to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes, filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry, the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things, we didn’t get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you,
And each time you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too.
When tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart,
for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart!
I love you always Mom, Dennis Ray, Atonia, & Carlos!
