Valentine's Day celebration

Valentine’s is the celebration of love and affection. Many people around the world celebrate Valentine's Day by showing apprecia-tion for the people they love; they may write a letter, a poem or a card. Prior to the celebration, art teachers helped our students to design and elaborate a card for their parents. On Wednesday 14th of February, SIS staff celebrated this event with

a nice diner.

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” ― Dr. Seuss

Henrieta's farewell We, the students and the staff,

said good bye to Ms Henrieta Pen-

heiro. We were sad to see her

going overseas but we are positive

about the new chapter of her life

she has started.

Australia is a country that will

open a new world of opportuni-

ties and we hope she exceeds

every single one of them. SIS has

recognized her three years of

work and commitment and appre-

ciates her loyalty. A plaque to re-

member her time serving our fam-

ilies has been given to her as a

symbol to her hard work and love

towards SIS family.

Professional Development Week

From the 11th to the 15th of March, our teachers received training eve-ryday to be able to duplicate what they have learned in the class-rooms. Also they worked on a spe-cific plan for next academic year. SIS will continue to look for more possible ways to improve the qual-ity of service and education.

Ms Henrieta and her students’

Career Day

Previously, our students were asked to draw a picture of the job they wanted to do when they grow-up with the hope of finding out more about children's career aspirations and what influences them. After examining the Art Work of our students, we had a better understanding of their career aspirations; so, SIS decided to invite their goal jobs professionals.

Fire station visits

On the month of February, our students PG to Year 3 visited Baridhara Fire Station located on Plot 1, Madani Ave, Dhaka 1212 during school hours, in order to learn and to have the real experience of fire station, its basic operation, rescue, protection, maintenance, dealing with other emergencies and so on.

Selection of LTs

Working as a team is our main priority; in order to do it, we need a strong foundation in our school and to be able to achieve it, we need experienced and talented people looking after the daily activi-ties we may take part of; that’s why the academic authority is pleased to announce the names of our 2 Lead Teachers (LT), whom have proven their talents to fulfill any job given; they are Nadira Delwar for the elementary section and Ms Omme Habiba for the senior section.

“Education is not just about going to school and getting a degree. It's about widening your knowledge and absorbing the truth about life.”

Sydney International School welcomes our new students and their families to our school community. Samrin Mahmud, Mahrin Mahmud, Sariya Ayat, Sunbir khan, Srijita Bhattacharjee and Sudipta Bhattacharjee have joined recently and we are happy to be part of their lives. Also, recently we have recruited a new teacher, Miss Faria. Welcome guys to our SIS family.
