SIR JOHN CASS’S FOUNDATION
PRIMARY SCHOOL
A voluntary aided Church of England primary school in the heart of the City of London Headteacher: Mr T Wilson
Friday 16th October, 2015
Our amazing adventures We had an amazing time at the Hampshire Cass Foundation Centre in the Brecon Beacons, Wales. We've had an estab-
lished trip in Class 6 for many years to Aberdovey in Wales. This year we thought we'd try something different.
Sir John Cass's Foundation have entered into a five year partnership, whereby students from any of the Cass Institutions can participate in outdoor activities at the Centre.
The quality of teaching and learning is outstanding. I accompanied a group for the day. In the morning we went po-
ny trekking and in the afternoon we went on a waterfall adventure. Our children were bursting with excitement about their achievements over the last few days and some incredible experiences they've had too! This is no ordinary Centre
where you get a sanitised version of outdoor education. It offers safe, yet truly challenging and exceptionally rewarding outdoor education. Read more about our adventures on the Head’s Blog.

A new public square for Aldgate For one day only, the children at the School and Children’s Centre took over the new public square in Aldgate. The de-
velopment of the square reached a milestone on Monday—the traffic started to go two ways down Aldgate High Street
and an open square was created! Councillors, representatives from the project team and local residents marked the occa-
sion with a special breakfast and excitingly, the children from our school got to play in the new space. This was the one
and only chance to do this until September 2016 when the main part of the square is due to open. We’re very excited
that our new location– surrounded by open spaces will not only reduce the amount of traffic noise but also the pollu-
tants.
Harvest Festival
Thank you for your generosity this year
at Harvest time. We enjoyed our Harvest
Festival this week. The children were in
particularly strong voice as they sung our
Harvest hymns. We also thought about
the history of Harvest in the UK and the
work of the Whitechapel Mission– our
Harvest Charity.
All your donations of foods, dry good
clothes and toiletries will be collected
shortly.
