SIPPO, the Swiss Import Promotion Programme, is a mandate of

the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, SECO, within the

framework of its economic development cooperation. It is carried

out by Osec, the official Swiss foreign trade promotion agency.

The programme helps SMEs in developing and transition coun-

tries to gain access to the Swiss and European markets by pro-

viding information, training courses and other matchmaking

services. SIPPO also assists importers from Switzerland and the

European Union with finding suitable partners and high-quality

products from selected developing and transition countries.

The programme has five main goals:• To inform the Swiss and European import economy about new

market sources

• To strengthen trade institutions and business sector associa-

tions in the trade promotion process

• To increase the competitiveness of SMEs in selected partner

countries

• To develop the manufacturing and exporting skills of SMEs in

Supporting the Implementation of Nepal‘s WTO commitments and the Enhanced Integrated Framework (GIZ WTO/EIF-SP)

WTO/EIF-SP is a bilateral programme in Nepal implemented

jointly by Ministry of Commerce and Supplies and Deutsche

Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The

objective is to improve the capacities of the Government in Nepal

to enhance the business environment by strategically using and

implementing its WTO commitments and the Enhanced Inte-

grated Framework.

Along these lines, an action plan for one of the priority sectors of

Nepal – Medicinal and Aromatic plants has been developed. This

GIZ programme facilitated the making of the action plan by bring-

ing together the stakeholders of the sector as a Project Advisory

Group. As part of the implementation of this action plan, GIZ is

supporting five herbal companies from Nepal to participate in

Biofach 2012 to improve their market linkage. This is a continu-

ation of Nepal’s participation in Biofach 2011 which was also

supported by GIZ.

The ecological agricultural farm Mikogen-Ukraina is located in

the western province of the Ukraine and is surrounded by the

picturesque Krzemienieckie mountains and the nature reserve of

Medobory.

Established in 2007, the company specializes in cereal and le-

guminous plant cultivation such as rye, triticale, buckwheat, oat,

pea and vetch. In 2008, Mikogen-Ukraina received their organic

certification.

Albanian Association of Marketing (AAM)

The Albanian Association of Marketing (AAM) is a professional

organization chartered to develop the marketing practice in

Albania. It aims to both create and deliver solutions to enable

both public and private organizations to build better relations

with their customers and other stakeholders through relevant

marketing techniques.

AAM facilitates Albanian Organic Exporters providing them with

a variety of personalised services that complement one another

and which are utilized independently for each of the companies

participating in BioFach, to address their specific characteristics.

AAM supplies the exporters with complementary skills and abili-

ties from the start of such events to succeed in the international

market. The BioFach exporters group represents the dynamics

of Albanian resources to include: herbs & spices, olive oil, cornel

juice, essential oils, chestnuts etc. Albania is represented in

Biofach 2012 by eight organic exporters Albfrut 2005, Amla,

Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina FTCBH is an association of of BiH companies, producers and

service providers of various business sectors engaged in imports

and exports. Its mission is to develop and improve foreign trade,

national customs and tariff policies of Bosnia and Herzegovina,

international finance, international transport and communications,

as well as to coordinate the activities of the economic develop-

ment of the country.

Bosnia and Herzegovina Export Promotion Agency BHEPA, is the national export promotion agency operating within

the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its pri-

mary role is to assist all BiH companies to develop and expand

export markets by promoting products of the country. The FTCBH/

BHEPA organizes the Pavilion of Bosnia and Herzegovina at Bio-

AgroAndino produces agricultural products from small-scale

farmers residing in the Peruvian Andes. AgroAndino helps to

establish farming cooperatives between small-scale farmers in

the mountainous plateau of Cajamarca. The company provides

training, technical assistance and consultancy services to im-

prove cultivation methods.

Through commercialization of the products, AgroAndino guaran-

tees fair prices for the small-scale farmers whilst improving eco-

nomic development and succeeding in making a positive change

in the region.

AgroAndino harvest their own ecotype of physalis from San

Pablo-Cajamarca which has an improved taste to regular physa-

lis, improved flavour, aroma and colour. The company is now

developing Mango Haden which has it’s own unique qualities.

Algarrobos Organicos was established in 2007, it’s aim was to

recover vital ancestral knowledge from the people of the Andean,

Coastal and Amazonian region. This knowledge was required to

grow the best possible products. Following age-old traditions,

and caution. The optimum temperatures preserve the fibers and

Algarrobos Organicos supports more than 200 farmers from the

high Andes in the northern part of Peru. The company is currently
