For the MCP used for the milling variant of the CNC, you need to remove these strips, and then insert the milling variant of the insertion strips in the MCP. When inserting the strips, follow the order of marks T1 to T6 and M1 to M6 on the strips. 2016/02 You can customize the pre-defined insertion strips for user-defined keys if the strips cannot meet your requirements. In the folder \examples\SINUMERIK_808D\MCP (PPU141.2) or \examples\SINUMERIK_808D_ADVANCED\MCP (PPU160.2 and PPU161.3) on the Toolbox DVD, you can find a symbol library file and an insertion strip template file. The turning variant of the MCP insertion strips is pre-inserted in the MCP. Connection between the PPU and the MCP

The MCP is connected to the PPU via an MCP connection cable that is included in the delivery.(The following illustration takes a horizontal PPU and horizontal MCP for example.)

Opening a mounting hole

1 Prise the plastic ring with a slotted screwdriver or cut it off with a diagonal cutting nippers.

Paper knife

2 Cut off the film with a paper knife. You are recommended to prick the center first, and then cut off the film right aroud the hole edge.

Make sure there is enough space around the MCP for the screws to be tightened into the operating cabinet.

The two types of vertical MCPs have the same dimensions and reserved hole for fixing the USB cable on the back. The following illustration takes the vertical MCP with the reserved handwheel slot for example.
