Dark grey on upper surface (dorsal) with pale sometimes pink lower surface (ventral). Prominent beak (jaw) and large dorsal fin.

Varying uniform grey colour with pale underside. Smoothly rounded head without prominent beak (jaw). Small rounded dorsal fin. Maximum body length is approx. 2.8 m (9.2 ft).1

Grey-brown colour with pale underside. Small eyes. Bulbous chin with two nostrilson top of snout. Broad, flattened rostral disk at the end of the large muzzle

distinctly turned downward. No dorsal fin. Maximum body length is approx. 3.3 m (10.8 ft).1

Indo-Pacific humpback dolphinSousa chinensis

Colour varies with age from dark grey when young to pink when adult. Young adults appear speckled grey and pink. Long beak (jaw) and hump on back in front of dorsal fin.

Maximum body length is approx. 2.8 m (9.2 ft).1
