DJ: At what age did you get your start?
I got started when I was in the second
grade, I entered into a” Little Miss Grays
Creek Pageant and I won 1st place. I was
so excited! Then I asked my mother could
I start modeling.
DJ: What fascinates you about the
modeling industry?
What fascinates me about the modeling
industry is EVERYTHING…. I love the
fashion, designing, runway and make-up.
I also enjoy the different poses when I am
being photographed.
DJ: Who are your inspirations or fa-
vorite models?
My inspiration and favorite models are
Tyra banks and Naomi Campbell. Tyra is
the model and teacher and Naomi is so
fierce on the runway.
DJ: How do you juggle the many facets
of modeling such as Go-sees, Open
Calls, Castings, rehearsals, photo
shoots, etc. with school and
academics?
I am able to do many facets in model-
ing because my mother helps plan and
schedule everything around my school
breaks and she schedules photo shoots
around my school schedule because my
academics always comes first.
DJ: What other hobbies or talents do you
possess other than modeling?
Other talents that I have are dancing, ballet and
hip hop, fashion designing, acting, and make- up.
DJ: Imani, you are very talented in your looks
and personality. What would you say has
assisted you in becoming so well-rounded?
What assists me in being so well rounded are my
parents, they provide for me so that I am able to
go and do what I love. My parents support me,
they encourage me and they keep me focused
and well balanced.
DJ: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In five years I see myself in NYC
modeling/acting/dancing or even pos-
sibly Paris working.
DJ: What advice would you give models
your age or younger to help them excel in
the industry?
The advice I would give to help other young
girls excel in this Industry is to always put
God first, keep education in the forefront, and
follow your heart and dreams. Set goals and
follow through.
DJ: What has been your most favorite
experience thus far as a young model?
My favorite experience would be when I
went to LA “Hollywood” and performed
for over 300 agents and casting directors.
I had to do 5 commercials in front of the
camera. I won model of the year! I
walked away with 10 call backs and
signed with an agency in NYC.
DJ: What has been your most chal-
lenging experience thus far?
Imani Morris by: Sanaii Morris
Our reporters were able to obtain an Exclusive interview with up & coming child supermodel
Imani Morris.
My most challenging experience was
when I had to go live in NYC for the
summer and go on auditions, it was
new so it challenged me and I was
nervous.
DJ: What other aspirations do you
have other than being a model?
My other aspirations are acting and I
am going to be a doctor when I grow
up. Surgeon. In addition, I would love
to open up a school someday to help
young girls with their dreams. I want to
have classes to help educate them on
the overall self from head to toe. I also
want to create a clothing line someday.

The Mother…..
The Model…..
The Messenger……..
Simply DelaJouere Fashion Magazine®
In an industry that’s inundated with children and
teens, Simply Dela Jouere Fashion Magazine salutes the
arrival of the age of experience…Ageless Beauty.
Society has been known to subconsciously overlook the
mature population when it comes to beauty, good looks,
and upholding that youthful glow. Often times, disre-
membering the old adage; “everything gets better with
time.” The more mature models have become increas-
ingly visible in the arena of fashion in which, above all
others, youth have long triumphed.
This new visibility of more mature models is part of a
paradigm shift in fashion from fashion fantasy to
fashion wear ability. This is why Simply Dela Jouere
Fashion Magazine features the model, the mother, the messenger, Christy Styles. Christy Styles drives a bold
statement in the fashion industry and makes a demand that anyone with drive, passion, and ambition can achieve
their goals at any age regardless of set traditions. Styles, the 36 year old Maryland native, working mother and
student believes that the word “no” is not in existence.
Styles entered the fashion industry at 15 years old doing runway shows and has continued through decades to
seize the spotlight, rip the runways and mesmerize viewers leaving them in a moment of sheer awe. Super mod-
el, Tyra Banks has inspired Christy Styles to continue in her modeling career. “Tyra Banks is a strong woman
who ceases to quit in her “old” model age of the 30’s,” stated Styles. “I love strong women such as Maya Ange-
lou and Oprah Winphrey. These women show other women that no matter the challenges in life, we can over-
come and be successful.”
Dela Jouere Fashion Magazine is proud to present such an icon of beauty. Christy Styles shows that she is a
woman who embraces the abstract; as she proudly wears a shaven head. When Styles was asked why the shaven
head, her response was: “I was in a barber shop one day and read a flyer that stated “hair day for cancer victims.”
“I asked the barber to shave my head and ironically two weeks after shaving, my father was diagnosed with can-
cer.” Christy sends a message to the world that hair is not needed to be beautiful. Her shaven head states to can-
cer patients as well as those that are not battling cancer to be happy with whom you are.
The model, the mother, the messenger, Christy Styles is a force that cannot be stopped and we applaud her for her
perseverance, “style,” and beauty in today’s fashion industry.

When one steps into Midway Barbershop at 4521 Bragg
Boulevard, nothing extravagant is seen. A first glance, it
gives perceptions as just another place to get a haircut in
Fayetteville. Walk a little further into Travis Fowler's
shop and witness an innovative edge that few spots, if any,
replicate.
Supa-Trav, the owner of Midway, is also the creator of
BeatKuttaz Recording Studio. The fully furnished booth
is located in the back of the barbershop where he works
with artists along with creating instrumentals.
"I actually started making music before I started cutting
hair," Fowler said. "My cousin taught me how to write
rhymes in third grade and I started cutting hair when I was
twelve.
Professionally, being a barber came first before I became a producer. I put it
together because I started thinking about what I had inside of me that I could benefit from. True passion comes from what
you're willing to do without money. If you're willing to follow your dreams, money is going to come and that's what I've
been doing."
Whether cutting hair or mixing down a song, Supa-Trav is very passionate about his work. Customer satisfaction is very
essential to him.
"Customer service is always important," Supa-Trav said. "You're letting someone know that they're getting a good product
whether it's a haircut or a CD. When it goes out of the room it's going to represent me and I want repeat customers."
Supa-Trav also has a television studio on Time Warner Cable Channel 7 called "Turn It Up With Supa-Trav". As a result,
those who work with him musically have the opportunity to get their songs featured on the station. At the same time,
Fowler encourages aspiring artists to look beyond their area.
"If your state of mind is just the city you live in, you won't go far," Fowler said. "Your talent is bigger than the area that
you're in whether it's here, New York, London, or wherever. "Your talent is bigger than that."
Fowler is currently working on projects by Deebo, GMG, and Quarter Key. He is also in the process of working on a solo
project entitled "Humble King". To view Supa-Trav’s work, go to Youtube and type "Beatkuttaz" in the search engine or
simply come to Midway.

Simply DelaJouere Fashion Magazine®
Everyone sees it, your wife sees it,
your husband sees it, and you can’t
hide it… so why not make your im-
pression a lasting one??? What are
we talking about? Your face!
“Facial skin”… how do you keep it
healthy, radiant and appealing to the
touch?
The “key” to healthy skin is to con-
sider what you are putting in your
body.
Garbage in…garbage out. A
healthy diet is vital. Eat foods that are
good for you and do not overindulge in
sweets and treats. Stick to vegetables and
fruits and minimize fatty fried foods.
Bake or broil your food using olive oil or
oil sprays.
Exercise, exercise and exercise again.
This is a good component to skin care.
Regular workouts keep the skin toned and
perspiring aids in eliminating toxins.
Water cannot be overemphasized. Drink
at least the recommended eight 8-ounce
glasses of water a day.
The face is the very initial contact be-
tween you and others. So, let’s look at
the basics of proper facial skin care:
Step 1: Properly cleanse your face with a
facial cleanser. Please be sure to use a
facial cleanser and not a “body” cleanser.
Cleansers should be free of fragrance and
gentle on your skin. There are various
types of facial cleansers for different skin
types. Dry skin types generally respond
better to a non-soapy cleanser since soap
is very drying. Oily skin does better with
a soapy cleanser. When you find a
cleanser that your skin responds very
well with, “stick to it.” Cleanse your
skin once in the morning and then at
night before bed in order to rid of cos-
metics and daily grime. If you use wash-
cloths or sponges, make sure to wash and
replace them frequently to prevent an
overgrowth of germs and bacteria.
Step 2: Use a toner. Toner should
be used after cleansing and patting
your skin dry. Apply toner on
your face with a cotton ball or pad.
A good toner will clear your skin
of leftover dirt, make-up, oil,
chemicals and minerals that have
been left behind after cleansing.
Toning helps to minimize pores
and balance the ph level of your
skin.
Step 3: Moisturize, moisturize,
moisturize! Most people feel as
though they should not moisturize
their skin because it will make the
skin oily. It is indeed the drying of
the skin that forces the skin’s natu-
ral response to produce more oil.
Moisturizing is the key to keep
your skin looking young. A moist-
urizer seals in moisture on the skin
and acts as a barrier against air-
borne toxins, pollutants and bacte-
ria. Apply the moisturizer of your
choice on the face after the toner
has completely dried.
Additional Tips for Facial Skin
Care:
Exfoliate 2-3 times weekly. Ex-
foliating clears off the dead
skin cells from the face in or-
der for the healthy skin cells to
be revealed. This process
causes the skin to look young-
er and brighter. You can use
exfoliating gloves or an exfoli-
ating facial cleanser to get this
effect. Simply lather the
cleanser on the gloves and rub
the face in a circular motion.
¨ Keep your hands and other objects
off of your face! Germs are
everywhere and the fewer
germs on your face the less acne
outbreaks you will experience.
Change your pillowcase at least
once a week. The pillowcase
catches germs, oil, and dirt and
rubbing the face in this while
snoozing could create a Zit
Nightmare!
Consider wearing hair styles with
the hair up and away from your
face if you have frequent out-
breaks on the forehead. Oily
hair against the skin can cause
acne.
You only get one skin outfit for
your entire life! So, treating it well
is extremely important. Learning
how to properly care for your skin
can help reduce the signs of aging,
clear acne and blemishes and give
you confidence to smile wide when
you step into a room. See more
skin care tips in the next edition of
Simply Dela Jouere.

How a Gentleman dresses and looks is obviously
important, but what defines his Style? The Gentlemen we
consider the best dressed does not typically wear clothing
that we remember....It's how he wears the clothing that
sticks in our mind, he merely seems to put it together
well........ His Style is often defined by His confidence,
which some are born with and others acquire over time....
it's a confidence not in what he is wearing , but rather in
who he is......
In other words Style without Substance is meaningless.
