You need to be using an email service like aweber or get response. This tip will probably work with others but I don’t know for sure because I only use aweber and get response. The tip is . . . Send it again! Both aweber and get response have the capability to identify those you sent your email to the first time who didn’t open it. They call them your “ unopens“. You then create a group of those people – they do that for you – and then send the EXACT SAME email to them again with only one change – write a different headline! The people who already read your email will not get it, so no problem there – but – the people who got your first email and didn’t open it – probably 90% of those you sent – will not know the content is the same when you use a new headline.

Here is a simple way to increase response rate of your broadcast emails.

In fact, it’s 100% guaranteed to work!

That’s rare these days, isn’t it?

There’s only one caveat . . .

but you knew there would be one, didn’t you?

You need to be using an email service like aweber or get response. This tip will probably work with othersbut I don’t know for sure because I only use aweber and get response. The tip is . . .

Send it again!

Both aweber and get response have the capability to identify those you sent your email to the first time whodidn’t open it. They call them your “unopens“.

You then create a group of those people – they do that for you – and then send the EXACT SAME email tothem again with only one change – write a different headline!

The people who already read your email will not get it, so no problem there – but – the people who gotyour first email and didn’t open it – probably 90% of those you sent – will not know the content is the samewhen you use a new headline.

For this to work you need to be sending out html emails, not plain text. But, don’t worry, I have no idea howto send fancy emails with graphics either. Both systems have a way to send out plain text emails as htmland you should definitely do that. They cannot track open rates unless you do.

Both aweber and getresponse have great customer service and you can call and they will walk youthrough both how to send a text email as html and how to resend your unopens.

For resending unopens essentially all you do is go into the statistics for the email you sent and save theunopened group. There are many ways to do this, but I like to just copy/paste my original email copy into anew email with a new headline.

This is 100% guaranteed to work!

Sometimes, you will get a higher open rate and more readers for your second email because your firstheadline sucked!

You can actually do it a third time if you like with the unopened from the second one, but I just do it twice.

BONUS TIP

If you are not doing this – start right now!

Set up a spreadsheet with columns for the date the email was sent, the headline, the open rate and thetotal emails sent. If you keep the 1st and 2nd emails together and then add the total opens and add theresponse rates for each pair of emails, you will see how well this works.

The main reason for doing this – aside from getting more opens for no more work – is to learn whatheadlines work with your audience and which don’t. Invaluable info because these are your headlineswith your list.

If you’re like me, you’ll see emails with a 1% open rate and emails with a 12% open rate and everything inbetween – or maybe even better . . .

Please, please, please – if you find the tips I’m sharing helpful, comment on my blog below and share onFacebook or whatever social media you use.
