What is a Simple Church? Why a Simple Church? How do we start Simple Churches? How do we transition to Simple
Churches?
What is a Simple Church?
It’s a real church.
What is a Simple Church?46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate
together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the
favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who
were being saved.Acts 2:46-47
What is a Simple Church?
3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus. 4 They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all
the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them. 5 Greet also the church that meets at their house.
Romans 16:3-5
What is a Simple Church?
19 The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and
Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that
meets at their house.1 Corinthians 16:19
What is a Simple Church?
15 Give my greetings to the brothers and sisters at
Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church in her house.
Colossians 4:15
What is a Simple Church?
It’s simple.
What is a Simple Church?
What does it take to start a new church?
What is a Simple Church?
A simple church is a group of friends who come together
regularly to learn how to live, love, and lead like Jesus.
What is a Simple Church?
What is your reaction to this definition?
Why a Simple Church?
It’s biblical.

What is a church?
Why a Simple Church?
Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion... (Philippians 2:1 NIV)
A CHURCH IS A COMMUNITY OF PEOPLE WHO ARE BEING SAVED.. .

then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. (Philippians 2:2 NIV)

Why a Simple Church?
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, (Philippians 2:3 NIV)

not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. (Philippians 2:4 NIV)

Why a Simple Church? In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! (Philippians 2:5-8 NIV)

Why a Simple Church?
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. (Philippians 2:12-13 NIV)
. . . A R E TO G E T H E R P U RS U I N G ST EA DY P RO G R ES S . . .
Why a Simple Church?Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. (Philippians 2:14-16 NIV)
. . .UNTIL THEY BECOME A SHINING PROCLAMATION OF CHRIST WHEREVER THEY ARE.
Why a Simple Church?
"A church is a community of people who are being saved, who with a single purpose, a
selfless pursuit, a small group perspective and a servant posture are together pursuing steady
progress until they become a shining proclamation of Christ wherever they are."
Why a Simple Church?
“COMMUNITYSHIP”
Why a Simple Church?
It’s better.
Why a Simple Church?
It’s easier to start. It’s easier to maintain.
It’s easier to grow. It’s easier to multiply.
It never ends.
Why a Simple Church?
How do you compare the biblical definition of church with common understandings about the
church?
Based on the biblical definition of church, why is it better to pursue a simple church model than a
traditional model?

Our goal is….
How do we transition to Simple Churches?
Those who want to start simple churches, please register your team immediately.
Once you’ve registered, start immediately. No need to wait for further training.
Teams that have started can join with other teams to form an IMPACT based on similarities or common concerns. We only want two levels/groups in RLCC: Simple Churches and IMPACT. (IMPACT will meet only as needed.)
How do we transition to Simple Churches?
Simple Churches must not meet at the Center. Only IMPACTs can meet at the Center.
The Center will be a place for special occasions, training, and administration only.
Be familiar with our resources, both live and online, so that you can use them to help your members grow in their faith. Remember, our goal is empowerment, not dependence or control.
How do we transition to Simple Churches?
We will have our Ekklesia twice a year (first Sunday of January and July). All Simple Churches and IMPACT must attend.
The leadership team (2-3 people) of each Simple Church will be the Overseers of that church. So each Simple Church will be team-led. The IMPACT will not oversee the Simple Churches.
Each leadership team must commit/submit to the New Vision Frame of RLCC.
THE NEW VISION FRAME OF RLCC Mission: Make real life possible for real people
through simple churches. Method: Proclaim the Gospel; Lead seekers to
Christ; Assimilate them into Simple Churches; Nurture their faith, hope and love; Train workers who will repeat the process.
