HistoryThousands of years ago, people who lived in a land called Saudi Arabia were nomads.Saudi Arabia was the birthplace of a religion called Islam.After a while, people started to live in many parts of the country.In 1936, Saudi Arabia’s kingdom was created. Ibn Saud was the king.Saudi Arabia has been friends with the USA. In 1991 Saudi Arabia allowed the US to use Saudi Arabia’s bases during the Gulf War.

There are no rivers in Saudi Arabia because it is so dry.

Sometimes temperatures even get below freezing in the hot deserts.
