Wednesday, 21st September 2016 Newsle7er - Term 3, Week 9, 2016 End of Term and Term Four This is the last week of term with school finishing at the normal Dme of 3.00pm on Friday. We reopen again for Term 4 on Monday, 10th October. Our Vision - SNS Learner Our school’s vision was revised last year to ‘Making a PosiDve Difference’. This vision drives our every acDon at Silverdale Normal School. We believe that this vision applies in so many ways: How our staff work with our learners in ‘Making a PosiDve Difference’ in their lives. How we encourage our learners to ‘Make a PosiDve Difference’ to others lives in the school and community. How our community strive to ‘Make a PosiDve Difference’. We believe that this vision is very special and encourage you to discuss with your child about the li7le things they can do every day to meet this vision. Our Silverdale Normal Learner is represented by our puzzle pieces. This vision is oUen posiDvely commented on by visiDng guests, parents and new families to the school. It has been great to hear our learners earning cerDficates for displaying these disposiDons and talking about them in conversaDons in class and in the playground. Ice Ska9ng We are going to have an ice skaDng rink at Silverdale Normal School on the first Friday of Term 4! Each class is going to have a session during the day. Classes go on the ice rink for 45 minutes and are taught the basics of balance, coordinaDon and ice skaDng. The rink is 10m by 16m and has arDficial ice which has 97% same gliding capacity as natural ice. This will cost $4.00 with the school subsidising the cost by $2.00 a child. If you would like your child to take part in the aUer school sessions, please contact the office, or fill in the online form on the school’s Facebook Page. The aUerschool prices are $7.00 for kids, $13.00 for adults and $35.00 for a family. A reminder that we need 8-12 helpers to set it up (2 hours) and pack it down (1.5 hours). Thank you to those who have already stated that you can help. If you can help, please contact the office or Stuart [email protected] Lost Property We have a huge amount of lost property in the foyer between Rooms 9 and 10. I would encourage parents to name clothing so there is a greater chance to have it returned. If the clothing is not recovered by the end of this term it will be given to charity. “Making a Posi9ve Difference” Silverdale Normal School 62 Silverdale Road, Hamilton, New Zealand Phone: 07 856 7604, Mobile: 027 7557917 E-mail: [email protected] Website: www.silverdale.school.nz __________________________________
