Hello Chapter Members,
We had an amazing time at the Shara
Reiner seminar. A lot of our painters almost
finished there boxes or other pieces that
were painted on. One of our members even
painted two at the same time! It was very
relaxing and laid back at times. The food
was good also. I must say, it was a big
success.
I want to give a big thank you to the
Seminar Committee. I couldn’t have pulled
the seminar off without your help.
Also, a great big thank you to Nicole
and Rocky for stepping up to take on the
Mark Menendez seminar in October. They
are getting things together for that and I’m
sure will be having a committee meeting
soon.
I also want to thank our awesome
monitors, Terry on Friday and Rocky on
Saturday. You both were a big help. So
thank you!!!
Our last chapter meeting went very well
too. We were small in numbers, but mighty
in painting. It’s that time a year again, hot,
summer and lots of vacation, but the
members who did come had a great time.
Shayron did a great job teaching and
everyone did an awesome job. We also had
some wonderful raffles, which gave those
who were there a higher chance at winning.
Win win!!! Yeah!!!
I’ve pulled together our nominating
committee for next year. I can’t believe
we’re half way through year. So start
thinking who would be willing to step up.
We need a new board (except Membership
if Nicole chooses to continue). Its time for
this board to step down and move over for
new.
The nominating committee will be
calling everyone soon. Not going to tell you
who they are because I want you to answer
your phone when they call. Remember this
is your chapter too, and we need your help.
There is going to be a board meeting. I
might be changing it to June 29. I will let
board members know on Tuesday, June 26,
for sure. If not it will be July 6 at Los Prados
at 11:00 a.m.
I hope everyone will be having an
amazing summer! Try to stay cool, it’s really
hot here in Las Vegas, way too hot for me,
and I’m sure for most of you. I truly
understand why everyone is on vacation
during this time a year. I’m looking forward
to cooler weather already, and summer has
just started. Thank goodness I have an
upright pool to stay cooler. That will be my
vacation place this summer!
Wishing everyone the best and I hope to
see you all soon. Keep smiling even when
it’s hard, keep painting even when the paint
dries out faster, and most of all be positive
and happy. See you all soon, enjoy your
vacations.
Your friend,
Gwen Palmer

Pro g r am s Hello Ladies,
We had a great time in June painting our Baby
Swans. I would like to thank everyone who took the class
and I would like to thank Shayron for teaching. Great job
Shayron!
In July: Shiela Hughes will be teaching White Rise
Radience design by Maria
Merritt TDR. Sheila is a
beautiful painter and this
would be a wonderful
piece to paint. You can
order the wood that Sheila
painted it on or you can
paint it on something of
your own. If you want to
sign up for this workshop
you still have a little time
left so contact me ASAP!
The cost of this Workshop
is $15.00.
In August: We have
a new teacher to our
chapter, Jeannetta Cimo
from California. Jeannetta
is a great teacher and she
will be teaching a design
she designed herself,
called Trick-or-treat. This
project is an excellent
project for beginners and a
fun, no stress project to
get you in the mood for
Halloween. If you would
like to take this Workshop,
you can order the wood from Sheila. The cost of this
Workshop is $15.00.
In September: our
President, Gwen Palmer,
will be teaching a Jamie
Mills Price design. A
hanging Snowman banner.
Gwen is a great teacher a
had a lot of patience. She is
also a pro at painting
Jamie’s designs, so you can’t
go wrong with this Adorable
project. The wood for this
reject can be ordered from
Sheila. You need to specify if
you need the stand that goes
with the piece or not. The price of this workshop is
$15.00

Rocky and I have agreed to take over the Seminar
Committee for the remainder of the year. We would like to
thank the current seminar committee for all the hard work
they have done so far, and we are very thankful for each
and everyone of you wonderful ladies.
We need a minimum of 10 people for the Mark
Menendez seminar. If you wish to attend this seminar, the
deadline to sign up with a $25 non-refundable deposit is
July 14.
If you would like to be on the committee and are not
on it already please, contact me or Rocky. I live on the
northwest side of town and I have a young daughter. I also
nanny for a 2 year old. So we will try to plan meetings to
fit schedules.
We will be holding our first meeting on July 20 at
noon at my house. During our first meeting I am hoping
to have several things done, the first being a price for the
Mark Menendez Seminar. I’m also hoping to get lots of
ideas for party favors.
If you have any questions in regards to seminars,
please feel free to reach out to either one of us.

Thankfully we have
good news to report this
month . .
1. Jan Green is doing
well post shoulder
surgery. She is improving
with continuing physical therapy. We hope to see her at
chapter soon.
2. Rocky Garrett is back with us – she attend Shara’s
seminar as our monitor on Saturday and is doing very
well in her recovery.
3. Mary Davis’ husband, Jim, had knee replacement
surgery and is in physical therapy three times per
week. He is doing great and sometimes actually forgets
his cane – said he has the discomfort of healing which is
nothing as compared to what he had been suffering prior
to surgery.

Happy Birthday!
Nothing new on the membership front. We are sailing
smooth with member dues.
It is the beginning of summer and I know a lot of us
have plans. So for those of you who will not be attending
meetings during these hot summer months, please
remember that chapter dues, unless you have otherwise
been informed or are a new member, are due in
September.
These summer months will go by quickly and just
want to remind you ladies now.
