Laundry is one of the core topics of Housekeeping. During their visit, they have seen various commercial washing machines, Steam irons, spot remover machine, calendaring machine, different types of chemicals, which are used for stains removal. Beside this they have seen how to remove stains from carpet and Laundry operating procedure. Symposium of Business Administration department A two-day symposium was organised on How to face the challenges of Job Stress in association with BHMCT & BHM Department. Eminent motivational speaker Dr. Kaushik Niyogi and mind trainer Prabir Chatterjee trained the students. Achievement (Faculty) Debayan Nandi, HOD of the Department of Business Administration received the Best Paper Award in the National Conference on Emerging Dimensions in Industry (NCEDI -2018) organised by Salesian College (An initiative of Don Bosco Institutions). He delivered a presentation on his research paper titled ‘Is Make in India ensuring Industrial Relation and Labour reforms in India?’ Three-Day Refresher’s Course of Civil Engineering Department of CE has organized a three-day Refresher Course for the benefit of the students as well as the faculty members working in the department. Structural Engineering and Transportation Engineering are two topics which discussed in the course. Students' Achievements of CSE Subham Sarda (Presently in CSE 7th Semester) published his IEEE conference paper at Fourth International Conference on Research in Computational Intelligence and Communication Networks (ICRCICN 2018). Title of his paper is “IoT and Cloud based Integrated System for Accident Reporting and Vehicular Health Monitoring”. Two-day Seminar on Cryptography & Network Security CSE & IT organized a two-day seminar on Cryptography & Network Security. Dr. Sarmistha Neogy, Professor, CSE, JU, Kolkata and Dr. Suvamoy Changder, Asst. Professor, CSE, NIT Durgapur were the key persons. Inauguration of Souvenir Dr. Achintesh Narayan Biswas, Assistant Prof. Department of Chemistry, NIT Sikkim Dr Sakuntala Gupta, Associate Professor Dept. of Physics, Raiganj University, Raiganj unveiled the DESH souvenir. Volleyball winners The students of ECE won the Inter- -department Volley Ball competition. Joint Seminar The department of ECE and EE jointly organized a two-day seminar on Recent Trends and Technology in Industry (RTTI 2018) at Sir J.C. Bose memorial Hall of SIT. Abhishek Roy, Senior Solutions Architect, TCS, Kolkata delivered lecture on modern technological trends and career opportunities for budding engineers. A total of 85 students participated. NOSTALGEEA Electrical Engineering department organised an alumni meet. The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of lamp followed by an interaction with the students and T&P cell. Furthermore, the Alumni after sharing their experiences assured all kinds of help, support, and cooperation for the betterment of the students and institute as whole. Post lunch session, a student and alumni interactive session was organized where students were allowed to ask any query related to placement and future career prospects and recent trends in Electrical Eng. All the queries were answered by the alumni. They also suggested the students to explore various companies and attend all the campus drives conducted by the college. Sijal Chettri and Raj Gupta were declared as the Miss and Mr. Freshers At the Half Marathon, students of HMCT presented a group dance as a part of promotional activity. The students also had the privilege of serving the VVIP guests who graced the occasion. Industrial Internship For the first time Industrial Internship was arranged with Oberoi Grand and Hyatt Regency, Kolkata. The other names in the list include Umaid Bhawan Palace Jodhpur, Marigold by Greenpark, Hyderabad, Zuri Whitefield Bengaluru to name TRAINING @HMCT Mayank Mishra and Raja Nand Sharma Placed with CTC 10 lacs per annum in McAfee Subham Sarda, Bikram Modak and Dibakar Roy received the 2nd Best Business Unit Corner award at Intel India Innovation and Career Fair 2018 at Bangaluru.
