Surface and base plate contact area must be clean and sound. For best results, the substrate should be dry. Remove dust, laitance, oils, grease, curing compounds, impregnations, waxes, foreign particles, coatings, and disintegrated materials by mechanical means, i. e. chipping with a chisel, sandblasting. All anchor prockets or sleeves must be void of water. Sandblast metal base plates to a commercialwhitefinish(SP-10)formaximumadhesion.Applygroutimmediatelytopreventre-oxidizing.Forming-Theconsistencyoftheepoxygroutsystemrequirestheuseofformstocontainthematerialaroundthebaseplates.Inorder to prevent leakage or seepage, all forms must be sealed. Apply polyethylene film or wax to all forms to prevent adhesion of thegrout.Prepareformworktomaintainmorethan100mm(4in)liquidheadtofacilitateplacement.Agroutboxequippedwithaninclinedtroughattachedtotheformwillenhancethegrout’sflowabilityandminimizeairencapsulation.

Empty entire contents of mixed A and B components into an appropriate mortar mixer ensuring that walls and bottom of mixing pail are scraped clean and all of mixed epoxy resin is added to mortar mixer. Slowly add the entire content of componentC andmix until uniformly blended (approx. 5min). Add all componentC unless areduction is directed by the Sika Representative. Mixed grout should be kept agitated prior to placement.

Application Pourthemixedgroutintothepreparedformsfromoneortwoadjacentsidesonly, toeliminateairentrapment.Maintaintheliquidhead to ensure intimate contact to the base plate. Place sufficient epoxy grout in the forms to rise slightly above the underside [3 mm (1/8in)]ofthebaseplate.Theminimumvoiddepthbeneaththebase-plateshouldbe25mm(1in),but38mm(1.5in)ispreferred.Wherethevoidbeneaththebaseplateisgreaterthan450mm(18in),placetheepoxygroutinsuccessive450mm(18in)liftsorless, once the preceding lift has cooled.

Clean up Sweep into appropriate containers. Dispose of in accordance with applicable local regulations. Uncured material can be removed with Sika®EquipmentCleaner/EpoxyThinner.Curedmaterialcanonlyberemovedmechanically.

Limitations ■ If material is subject to cold or freezing temperatures during transportation to job site, care must be taken to properly pre-condition A, B, and C components prior to beginning grouting operations.■ Groutingmaterialmust be stored in an areawith an ambient temperature between 23-35°C (73 - 95°F) for a minimum of

48hoursbeforeusing.■ Coldambient,substrateormaterial temperatureswill inhibit thecuringand flowcharacteristicsofSikadur42Grout-PakLE.

Ensure that allmaterials, substrate andambient temperatures are conditionedbetween23-35°C (73 - 95°F) at the time of grouting.

■ Do not thin with solvents. Solvents will prevent proper cure.■ Material is a vapour barrier after cure.■ Minimumgroutdepth:25mm(1in).■ Maximum grout depth: 450 mm (18 in) per lift. For grout depth between 300-450 mm (12-18 in), contact Sika Technical

Service.■ Thelastliftmustbekeptat50mm(2in).■ Component C must be kept dry.■ For bolt grouting applications contact Sika Technical Service.■ For proper seating, allow grout to rise above the bottom [3mm(1/8in)] of the base plate.■ Do not batch. Mix complete units only.■ Do not subject cured epoxy grout to sudden temperature changes especially during early curing stages.■ Contact Sika Technical Service for control joint spacing on large base plate grouting projects.
