WESTERN SIGNS SURVEY Surveyed all direction signs, route confirmation signs and tourist signs along the N59 using GPS handheld mobile mapper for data input. This project was funded by the NRA. All relevant signs were to be surveyed for factors such as condition, location on the road, visibility, text size etc. Once an archive of all signs had been created and input into a GIS the NRA could review and recommend any changes/improvements necessary. Following pages give brief illustration of the survey process.
