ROAD TRANSPORT SECTOR Develop the road traffic crashes Data base Achievement of the five pillars on the UN Decade of Action for road

safety, reducing road traffic crashes to 50% by 2015 Nationwide vehicle testing using modern testing equipment Introduction of Road Safety Curricula in schools Introduction of Public Haulage Services Development of National Transport Policy and Urban Mobility Plan Introduction of school bus services Introduction of bus services for the physically challenged Introduction of luxury coaches Achievement of the national road safety policy and strategic plans Introduction of provincial city bus services


MARITIME SECTOR Rehabilitation of the Kissy Oil Jetty Construction of a new oil jetty Construction of a new port AND industrial city. Installation of Navigational Aids in all riverine areas Institutional strengthening in maritime sector Dredging to accommodate bigger ships Introduction of ferry services along the coasts to decongest

the roads Establish a shipping line carrying the national flag through

public private partnership


AVIATION SECTOR Institutional strengthening of the Sierra Leone

Civil Aviation AuthorityEstablishment of national airline through public

private partnershipConstruction of new airport in the mainland and

an AIRPORT CITY.Rehabilitation of all domestic airstripsExpansion of cargo warehouse facilities at FNA


RAIL TRANSPORTATION SECTORConduct nationwide feasibility study for the

reintroduction of public railway transportation services

Expansion of private rail way services(mining companies) to service other parts of the country to enhance transportation of passengers and goods

Complete the transformation of the port from a service port

to a landlord port. Establish a shipping line carrying the national flag through

public private partnership.
