managing and assigning resources (tools, fixtures,
consumables), and creating associative relationships between
physical and process structures. Teamcenter Part Planner is the
primary application used in the course.
Students learn to define a process plan for part manufacturing
operations. This includes the definition and management of
product, process and plant structures and their relationships to
each other, and to modify multiple manufacturing related
structure data.

Basic Part Costing
Duration: 3 days
Who should attent: OEMs, Suppliers, Cost Engineers, Buyers
Prerequisites: none
The Teamcenter Product Costing – Basic Part Costing training is
focused on teaching students how to calculate product cost in
TcPCM. Students will start by building an overhead calculation,
and quickly grasp how to create initial price indicators on their
own. Using existing calculations, students will discover how to
analyze and generate reports to introduce measures to keep
cost drives in check.
Once the course is complete, students will understand, TcPCM
not only simplifies the process of estimation and quote
management, but also brings about cost awareness within the
organization, and enables manufacturing to be in sync with the
initial estimations and sales requirements. It also enables
finance and purchasing to get a level of control on costs that is
otherwise not possible. Developing detailed cost knowledge and
maximum transparency across the entire value chain is
indispensable for achieving excellent product cost management.
Day 1 – 3 Objectives
• Creating a calculation
• Changing a calculation parameter
• Calculation with determined machine size
• Cycle Time
• Creating a calculation with tools
• Optimizing the calculation…

The Teamcenter Product Costing – Basic Tool Costing –
Synthetics/Metals training will set the foundation for creating tool
cost within TcPCM. Students will be introduced to 3D data to
create cost calculations using the parametric methodology and
by manually entering values. Students will notice, through a
series of standard display functions in the 3D tools such as
measuring and sections, many part features such as undercuts,
openings, ribs, and others are easily recognized. While realizing
the parametric calculation methodology in Tool Costing enables
an optimum balance between accuracy and time-based
calculation effort.
Students will be able to acknowledge the combination of Tool
Costing and the Teamcenter software for Product Costing for a
fully integrated calculation solution.
