Thanks to SICO members Rene’ Tokunaga and Lyn Lurbe for their home made cookies. By the way that the food disappeared, there could be no question as to how well they were en- joyed. Also provided, were mini- manicure sets for each of the girls as well a little door prizes for those who volun- tarily led the group discussions. April 2013

As Co-chairs Ellen and Jackie pondered how to make a difference for the Lei Ilima Girls Club, an unexpected opportunity arose. Having met with SIWFI club mem-bers at another Soroptimist function, they heard about SIWFI’s program about teen age dating violence. Getting all the infor-mation, Stephanie Ragolia, from the Do-mestic Violence Center, was contacted and accepted the invitation to speak to the Lei Ilima Girls. DUES ARE DUE

NA MEA HOU

Lest you forget…..Dues are Due to Treasurer Susan by the June 6th Business Meeting. The annual dues is $125 . Your dues covers all dues to the Founder Region, Soropti-mist International of the Americas, Soroptimist Interna-tional, liability insurance, quarterly magazine and Foun-ders Pennies. In order to be a club in good standing, each club must maintain a membership of 15 members in good standing, which means paying your annual dues and any other monetary item that may be outstanding. To date, SICO has all nineteen members in good standing. Let’s keep it up.

Late payments are assessed a fee so be prompt.

Although she minimalizes it, this was a highly important trip to “the Capitol.”

Quoting Judy, “It was for all the Community Health Care Centers on the U.S to meet with elected officials. Community Health Care Centers are really coming into their own and Federal Government is very supportive. Please note we are not saying "Clinic" but Center. We see insured as well as uninsured.

We have the only Federally. funded School Based Center in our state located at Kahuku Intermediate & High School. We offer medical care plus dental.”

Judy’s Trip to DC, Washington, that is

ONE NIGHT IN ROME—Coming Soon

Our annual tri-club fundraiser, now titled One Night in Rome will be held on Friday, August 24, 2013, at the former Dole Cannery Ballroom now called the…………….Tickets are $125 per person. The capacious ballroom is capable of holding 1000 people and it is the Committee’s hope that it is sold out! Thus far, SICO is allotted only one Gold Table but will be able to have more as needed. The Silent Auction is the most profitable for all the giving that we do so start making your contacts now.

Co-chairs are Lyn Lurbe, Rene’ Tokunaga and Lorraine Fukumae.

Did you know that...at each of SICO meetings, there is a door prize drawing with prizes provided by those members who are celebrating their birthdays in that month…..and, did you know that there is one person who won a prize at the last two meetings!

Recognize the little rascal! Many thanks for your donations.

President Leona was also a winner.

Great to see Leona Takita again after a long absence.
