Why I am .. The way I am !

Why Do it !?

The Human Genome is the one of the mostfascinating things known to man !

Even though significant breakthroughs have beenmade at ‘reading’ the genome – a lot of ground isyet to be covered at understanding - ‘deciphering & decoding’ it !

Bio-mimcry : Once, the exact mechanism bywhich this complex genome functions isunderstood, it can be applied to various enigmaticproblems faced by us in real life .. Fromengineering to economics !

Why Do it !?

b) Theranostics ( That’s Therapeutics +

Diagnostics)

They are the words at the core of

oncoming Medical Revolution !

I am Medical Doctor by profession.

The excitement of having my own

genome sequenced is as exciting an idea

to me ( if not more ! :D ) as…

Seeing the Higgs – Boson particle isolated

in the CERN Hadron Collider to a

Physicist !

Dreams come at a price !

But the the good news is ..

The cost of Entire Genome Sequencing is decreasing at an exponential rate !!

From $ 100,000 in 2009

To $ 1000 in 2014 (projected)

Currently : approx $ 3500 - 4000

Expected to fall to approx $ 2500 in the next few months.

(So.. I am sure it is going to be within the Rs. 1.5 Lakh cap ! :D .. Atleast within a year)
