Session Plans

Session plans are going to be due every week of the semester

This allows us to keep a record of what you've done for the class and it’s available for the next semester

Session plans will help you and future SI leaders keep track of content reviewed, activities used. And challenges experienced by students as they relate to the material or Si model

The AC will review your session plans and provide you with feedback for improvement.

Discussions with the Program Specialist, the Assistant Coordinator, Student Managers and/or returning Si leaders during your prep time

Facebook Groups let your supervisor know if you’d like to start a group for your class

CAPS Message Boards can be used to communicate with other CAPS student employees

Collaborative Learning Tool Kits give quick snapshots of activities that you can use to review content for your courses. These are great for triggering ideas! Available in the supervisor’s offi ce.

SI Leader Manual can be checked out of the front offi ce

Trello (http://trello.com)

Permission to view and request to be a member will be sent to you by the end of next week

SI RESOURCES

Facebook groups are encouraged for each SI supported course because the give your students a form to communicate, interact, and problem solve outside of SI sessions

Groups will be set up by the Online Tutoring team in the fi rst week of classes. Look for an invite from the Program Specialist for Online

Once your in the group, you’ll be made an admin and will be the primary person in charge of your group.

Groups should remain open for the fi rst four weeks of class

Questions or concerns? See Program Specialist for Online

Not a Facebook user? Don’t want a group for your SI? Just let the Program Specialist know for SI and Program Specialist for Online know.

FACEBOOK GROUPS

Sign-in sheets are used when you do not have a Resource Rep logging your students in and out. This is most typical during test reviews.

Always keep a couple of sign-in sheets with you just in case

Signing in students is important because SI receives funds based on student utilization. So, we need to keep track of who is using our services. You can fi nd sign-in sheets in the student lounge. If you run out, let the front desk know and they will print out more.

SI Lecture Assignment #6: Bring your written

responses with you to the in-person training

Watch the lecture on Community Ecology by Prof. Alan Shabel, UC Berkeley

Remember to take notes exactly as you would during a normal lecture. This means you do not have the ability to watch it twice, rewind it, or pause for breaks.
