Staff Reporter Port Blair, Aug. 1 The Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), a maternity benefit program is being implemented by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. It is a conditional cash transfer scheme for pregnant and lactating women of 19 years of age or above for the first live birth. The objective of the Yojana is to provide partial compensation for the wage loss in terms of cash incentives so that the woman can take adequate rest before and after delivery of the first living child and the incentive provided would lead to improved Implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana by Social Welfare Deptt. in Isles 6155 beneficiaries enrolled so far; 5914 gets cash incentive health seeking behaviour amongst the Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers (PW&LM). The Social Welfare Department, A&N Administration is instrumental in implementing the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana in these Islands. The number of beneficiaries enrolled (till date) stands at 6155. A total of 5914 beneficiaries were provided cash incentives under this scheme. Under the scheme, financial assistance in the form of grant/ seed capital would be provided to individuals/ SHGs/ Co- operatives/ Farmer P r o d u c e r s Organizations (FPOs). The scheme adopts Support to individual micro enterprises through PM FME Scheme Interested individual entrepreneurs willing to set up food processing units may apply online 'One District One Product (ODOP)' approach to reap the benefit of scale in terms of requirements of input, availing common services and marketing of products. Port Blair, Aug. 1 The A&N Administration is strictly implementing the five-fold strategy of Testing, Tracing, and Treatment, COVID- appropriate behaviour and Vaccination. To stop the chain of transmission of virus and reduce the number of positive cases various steps have been initiated. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in A&N Islands, the testing has been augmented manifold and as on date, 442063 samples have been tested in A&N Islands. Further, the Islands Test Per Million (TPM) stands at 1105158. Apart from this, the District Administration is also conducting mobile RAT testing in rural areas of the District. The incoming flight passengers are also being retested with RTPCR. The District Control Room regularly monitors patients who are placed under home isolation by keeping track on the person's health status besides providing the required medicine. As per health data, the new active case in the last 24 hours has come down to 2 while the total number of active cases during the 2 nd wave (since 01.03.2021) has also come down to 07 in the entire Islands. Out of the total, 7539 confirmed cases of COVID since March 2020, 7403 patients have been cured / discharged so far. These developmentshave reflectedpositively inimprovement ofIndia's ranking inGlobal InnovationIndex. India hasclimbed 33 notchesfrom 81st position in2015-16 to 48th in 2020.

New Delhi, Aug. 1 GST collection,after posting above 1lakh crore mark foreight months in a row,dropped below 1 lakhcrore in last month.With the easing out ofCOVID restrictions,GST collection for Julyhas again crossed onelakh crore rupees. TheGross GST collected inJuly was 1,16,393 crorerupees, of which CGSTis 22,197 crore rupees,SGST is 28,541 croreand IGST is 57,864crore rupees.

1. SHORT TITLE AND COMMENCEMENTS:-

(i).These Rules may be called the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, DIET, Department of Education (Group

“A” post in the DIET of Department of Education), Recruitment Rules, 2021.

(ii)They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. NUMBER OF POSTS, ITS CLASSIFICATION AND LEVEL IN PAY MATRIX:- The number of said post, its

classification and level in pay matrix attached thereto shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the Schedule

annexed to these rules.

3. METHOD OF RECRUITMENT, AGE LIMIT, QUALIFICATIONS ETC.:- The method of recruitment, age limit,

qualifications and other matters relating to the said post, shall be as specified in the columns (5) to 13) of the said

Schedule.

4. DISQUALIFICATIONS:- No Persons-

(a) Who has entered or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse: or

(b) Who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted marriage with any person;

shall be eligible for appointment to any of the said posts:

Provided that the Lieutenant Governor (Administrator), Andaman and Nicobar Islands, may, if satisfied that such

marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such persons and the other party to the marriage and

there are other grounds for so doing, exempt any person from the operation to this rule.

5. POWER TO RELAX:- Where the Lieutenant Governor (Administrator), Andaman and Nicobar Islands is of the

opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do he may by order for reasons to be recorded in writing and in

consultation with Union Public Service Commission, if necessary, relax any of the provision of these rules with

respect to any class of category of persons.

6. SAVING:- Nothing in these rules shall effect reservation, relaxation of age limit and other special categories of

persons in accordance with the order issued by the Central Govt. from time to time in this regard.
