Data Disaggregation• Analysis of trend data to help with 9th

grade placements and curriculum decisions

review PSAT, SAT and AP exam data. Share results with the staff

Calendar Development• English 10 this semester• Summer of 2011~ Development of instructional focus calendar, activities, and assessments – English and Math • DOE learning targets will drive calendars in math and language arts

Instructional Focus• School wide writing and reading focus• Testing vocabulary• Teaching model and classroom structure• Higher order thinking skills –questioning techniques• DOE curriculum maps

Assessments

• Acuity Algebra 1• ALEKS• Read 180 and System 44• English 10 and Algebra 1 ECA• English 10 learning target assessments• PSAT, SAT, AP tests

Tutorials and Enrichment• Tutorials–Pull out programs–Summer school–Lab classes in both math and language arts–Core academy–Tuesday and Thursday after school

• Enrichment – student schedule choices

Maintenance• Frequent assessments on the

learning targets to ensure students are retaining material – English 10

• Using ALEKS and Acuity results to check for student retention of material – Algebra 1

• Once we have developed that process in those classes, we can expand to other classes and departments.

Monitoring• Data team meetings• Principal walkthroughs and evaluations• Teacher reports at faculty meetings• To do: Data and RTI meeting protocols• To do: Validity of data walls

• The 8-Step Process is the framework for many of the initiatives we are already doing.• It allows us to refine the

process and give it name.
