Space is the profound essence of every form in existence. The artful manipulation of Space to create a

form that is functional as well as aesthetic is the virtue of our Architecture.

which stands for is an architectural outfit founded

in 2007 in the heart of Bangalore city. “Swift minds” because thinking on our feet, keeping up

with change and switching from various genres of design, from architecture to interiors is our forte. The “sixth sense” we believe is the intuitive factor that adds a sense of depth and completion to our

work creating spaces that are not only visually appealing but are also full of uplifting energy and spirit.

The founder is a patron of the delicate blend of practicality and artistic value. This value system has

reflected in all our projects since inception. Each project is dealt with meticulous planning and unique

approach that it deserves. Manipulating spaces is our niche and we can travel from designing

corporate office interiors to industrial structures with crafty versatility.

The journey so far has been eventfully interesting. Irrespective of all our accolades and achievements,

we stick to what we do best – designing buildings and interiors that harmonize with the environment

while exuding a vibe that is both pleasing to the senses and functionally

apt.

A leader and his team together form a fluid coupling

force, and one is equally dependant on the other to

drive success. The team at SM6 comprises fifteen

dedicated people. The architects who are B.Arch

qualified and the project management team consists of

well experienced engineers and managers. This makes

us a strong and efficient unit. We also have draftsmen

who excel in detailed drawings and are effecient in

delivering on time. Our 3D visualizer is proficient in

software that bring out clean and realistic images.

Altogether the SM6 corp team is appropriately skilled.

Years of working together has brought out a fine

synchrony amongst the team members. The business

development is managed by Mayur with the help of

marketing team while the purchase team takes care of

the on time delivery of materials at best negotiated

rates.

SM6 is the brain child of Mayur Borker who graduated from the Goa College of

Architecture. His combination of creativity and business acumen brought him to

start an independent space for creativity and design to flourish.

Free thinking and passionate about Architecture, his effort into “A Mobile

Theater Design” earned him an award from famous architect Charles Correa

under the category best project. Mayur has a commitment to people as well as

an inherent urge to be original and pioneering in his designs. It is these qualities

that have led SM6 through a steep upward growth over the past six years.

Mayur's work philosophy is to chart a trail where none has dared to tread, and

hopefully garner a following as well.

2007 -2008

Founded in 2007 with a team of 2 architects, a space of 150 sq. ft., a flood of creativity and fresh enthusiasm, SM6 started off designing

office and retail spaces. Soon our work expanded and so did our office and within a year of inception we moved into a 600 sq. ft. office

space.

2008- 2010

Our constant search for creatively exciting projects led us to design the interiors of Ogilvy and Mather which is an office space of 32000

sq. ft. in Bagmane Tech Park. We then went on to design interiors 15000 sq. ft. interiors of the JWT office space in Symphony. This

project led SM6 to win the IIID Award in 2008 in the category of 'Best Office Space Design in South India'. We consider this a crucial

turning point on our journey.

2010-

Our largest project in Base building design was signed during this period. This was a space of 5 lakh sq. ft.for Goa based Nanu

developers with an IGBC gold certification. We also conjured the master planning of 67 acres plotted development for the Apna Sapna

group. These projects strengthened our foot hold both architecturally and in the realm of Interior design.

2011

2011-2012

The rampantly changing market prodded the demand for turnkey solutions. Thus a new vertical of purchase and execution was born.

The key focus is to merge creativity and quality, and SM6 has accomplished this on all projects till date, albeit without compromising on

functionality.

Our most significant accomplishment so far has been the design of a 1.5 lakh sq. ft. On mobile we worked on in 2013. This was a

turnkey project which was executed in a matter of 3 months. To add icing to the cake, the design has been well critiqued by the

international architectural community and will be featured in a renowned magazine shortly.

Creating a

Space at Work...

Our enduring focus on the humane aspect of the business has brought us to realize that

a great workplace is a mixture of good leadership; great team bonding; a feeling of

belongingness; openness and transparency; and a general feeling of wanting to wake

up in the morning and look forward to come to work.

The key focus at SM6 is balance. Of course striking that fine balance is not always easy,

and requires a lot of awareness. We realize that the universe operates on Yin and Yang

– marrying masculine rationality with feminine intuition. Everyone at SM6 is sternly

committed to their work from a professional point of view, and an unspoken synergy

occurs at the vicinity of deadlines and crunch moments. However, this synergy could

only be created through the chemistry the team has built through activities outside of

the work sphere. When not in work mode we ensure that the work place is buzzing with

a fun vibe. The fact that all of us have varied interests also contributes to the quality of

our creativity at work, and inspiration dawns from the most unlikely quarters of our

minds, and the most ungodly hours of the day.

Ever heard of the Law of Attraction – that like attracts like. We donate to a lot of

underprivileged organizations and old age homes, out of a sheer passion to give back.

Charity is not the appropriate term as we intend to make a difference in whatever way

possible. After all, what goes around comes around!

where we Stand TodayThe trip so far has been interesting and thankfully uphill. We have designed office spaces, residential buildings as well as structures in industry and hospitality. SM6 has

carved a niche as a company capable of coming up with relevant yet creatively refreshing work. We have demonstrated speed in completion of projects, all the while

maintaining quality based on a turnkey module.

All this talk about spaces makes us want to talk of our own. Our place of operation is a 2300 sq. ft. office space which accommodates a staff of 20 people comfortably. The

space is self-sustained, in the sense that most equipment and facilities required for quick and precise delivery of drawings are available in house. We have created an

atmosphere with all the requisites that are becoming of an efficient work environment.

Sm6 has executed big budget projects, won awards and has seen a steady growth curve. However, we don't believe in resting on past laurels, and our

creative thirst leads us to ever new horizons where we intend to deliver with equal enthusiasm. The way we see it, the road ahead extends far and wide!

Infrastructure

As mentioned earlier, we do not intend on resting on past laurels. As much as awards and recognition have given us a

sense of faith in our abilities as a team, we have a vision for the future that involves a lot of possibilities. We like to

constantly push the envelope, and intend to take on versatile projects of a large scale that help us exercise our creative

muscle.

Future Plans:-

- We are also working in the area of materials research

- Working on projects in the Hospitality Sector

- Factory and industrial projects

- Cross Cultural: Working with Architects and designers from around the world to facilitate an

exchange of ideas and to expand our horizons.

We are constantly going back to the laboratory, inventing and reinventing ourselves individually and as a team. Like a

body builder who takes a break between working a muscle, only to go back stronger, so also at SM6 we take short breaks

from work to recharge our creative muscles so to speak. Although our vision is for the future, the only time we have is the

NOW. Being present in an unbiased space is what brings out creations from a deep space, untouched by tendencies to

imitate. It is by subduing ego that a human being's true nature shines through all sorts of creative expression. Our intent is

to reach this state of balance within the NOW, and to explore the deepest core of creative potential within our midst.The

future at SM6 looks bright from where we see it, and we have miles to go before we sleep!

Curtain CallA lot of sweat has gone into the show over the

last six years. It's been an interesting ride. We

came, we saw, and there's still a lot to be

conquered. We have a lot of exploring to do in

the domain of architectural possibilities.

Architecture is such a rich art, yet it's also a

science, and has tremendous social and political

impact. The Architecture from an era weaves a

story about the politics and the cultural ethos of

that era. Architecture reflects economy.

Architecture reflects the emotions and the

ideologies of the people of a place. Architecture

is a tapestry that manifests countless hues of

creative expression. Yet it is a business that

demands qualities beyond just being creative

and technically sound. It involves the use of avid

people skills, documentation, business acumen,

and the ability to move through all these roles

with ease.

Even with all its demands, we love what we do,

and hope that our zeal reflects in our work.

There's one thing you should know though, we're

not very good with goodbyes. So we hope that

this end marks a fine beginning, the start of a

great working relationship!
