Prayer group meets every Monday from 7:00pm-9:00pm in room 205. Please bring your bible, rosary, Diary of St. Faustina and Catechism. The month of December is filled with expectation and celebration. Preparation is the key word for the first 24 days of December. Everyone is getting ready for Christmas — shopping and decorating, baking and cleaning. Too often, however, we are so busy with the material preparations that we lose sight of the real reason for our activity. Christmas is a Christian feast — and we must reclaim it as such! In the same way that a family eagerly prepares for a baby, so in Advent should we prepare for the coming of the Christ Child. We should keep Advent as a season of waiting and longing, of conversion and of hope and keep our thoughts on the incredible love and humility of our God in taking on the flesh of the Virgin Mary. Let us not forget to prepare a peaceful place in our hearts wherein our Savior may come to dwell. The best person we can turn to for help during Advent is Mary, Christ's and our Mother. She awaited the day of His birth with more eagerness than any other human being. Her preparation was complete in every respect. Let's crown our preparation and borrow something of Mary's prayerfulness, her purity and whole-hearted submission to God's will. http://www.catholicculture.org/culture/liturgicalyear/overviews/months/12.cfm The Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Prayer Group meets every first Saturday of the month at 4 pm in the Christian Formation Center.

As many of you may

remember, this year is the

15th Anniversary of St. Edith

Stein Catholic Church.

On Sept. 1, 1999 the parish was officially

established; and, on Oct. 12 of the same

year, at Mayde Creek Jr. High, we had our

First Mass. It does not seem so long ago

but much effort and prayer has been

combined to bring together this great

community of believers. Congratulations

to all who are members of this community

now, at this 15 year milestone.

We have had a great success

with our Capital Campaign.

If you would like to join us

and have not committed yet,

or have any questions,

please call Janet Fite

(281-492-7500)

or email

[email protected].

Thank you for

your support.

On Saturday, October 4th, St. Edith Stein Parish celebrated its fourth annual Founders’ Day Festival. We could not ask for better weather as over two thousand people enjoyed delicious food, plenty of games, and wonderful music throughout the day and into the evening. From country music oldies to salsa, our lineup gave everyone something to dance to. This year’s line up included The Texas Trio, The Platinums, Rishelle Illanga, Aftermath, Grupo Kache, Chris Boise, and from our very own parish, SES Youth Rocks, Jason Sacco, and The Living Stones. All gave of their time to bless us with great music and entertainment.

Overall, our Founders’ Day Festival was another great success bringing in a net profit of $44,000. Thanks to our Festival Committee and its volunteers. More importantly “THANK YOU!” to those who came out and helped support our annual parish festival.

THANK YOU TO ALL FOR VOLUNTEERING, DONATING, SELLING RAFFLE TICKETS AND HELPING US MAKE THIS A GREAT DAY FOR OUR VISITORS.
