Simplification and Integration of Signal Equipment
・Changing the track circuit between stations to the non-insulated one
・The simplification and integration of signal control equipment
・The exchange of decrepit station interlocking devices
Severe environmental condition!
By carrying out both projects at the same time …

4. Consideration and conclusion
In order to estimate the result of …
• The delay data was evaluated
every fiscal year from 2007 to 2013
• Data collection period
: From August to February (184 days)
• Delay time is recorded at …

Consideration

𝑇1, 𝑇2 , 𝑇3 , ~, 𝑇183, 𝑇184 (min)

MDT(in NC) =𝑇2+𝑇5+𝑇6+ ~+𝑇182+𝑇184
𝑁(min)
• Mean delay time (MDT)
• Mean delay time in normal operating condition
(MDT(in NC))
Consideration
1st step
(Feb. 2010)
2nd step(Aug. 2011)
MDT(min)
MDT(in NC)(min)
• MDT(in NC) had risen to some extent after 1st step.
The congestion at Musashi-kosugi station is
supposed to affect the train diagram.
• MDT(in NC) had nearly unchanged after 2nd step.
• MDT has not developed the characteristic tendency.
Conclusion
• The minimum train headway has been
shortened to be 2'10" and some regular
trains are actually operated at under 2'30"
intervals.
• The remarkable troubles have not ever
occurred and the safe and reliable
transportation service have been provided
in Yokosuka Line.
Thank you for your attention
