What is a Short Story?A short story is a brief work of fiction. They
do not have a fixed length, but most of them are between five hundred words and fifty pages. Short stories are brief enough to be read in one sitting.

There are many elements of a short story such as plot, conflict, resolution, external conflict, internal conflict, exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, setting theme, point of view, and narrator.
In order to have a short story you must have all of these elements. The most important elements of a short story are the narrator, conflict, call to action, characters, theme, and point of view.
